Agreed agreed. The good thing is Bernard and Richarlson (normally) are players that aren’t afraid to take players on naturally and that’s what we need in these games. I think that the best example of it was Bernard’s run past chillwell into the box. Leicester knew they were completely f**ked at that point but we spent the whole game lobbing the ball in and none of the forwards were expecting it (no excuse though to not be there)
Exactly. If anyone had any desire to get onto that cross then we'd have bagged a goal.

We should have been deploying that strategy all game, not crossing balls into the box for DCL or Bernie

Its bad enough having players on the pitch who cant be arsed closing down/making runs and moving the ball forward with intent. Its bad enough having players who are error strewn gormless 'accidents waiting to happen' and are only consistent in that. It is however absolutely diabolical having the majority of players who cant even execute the most basic pre-requisites of a professional footballer with passes overhit/underhit/misdirected totally...headers with no purpose or power...throw-ins hardly ever making a blue shirt. They should all be forced to watch that nightmare in its entirety though I would then probably have to add 'being in denial' to that ever increasing list.

We are in danger right now of falling into apathy.

When a 5-1 win means nothing and doesn't conjure up any long lasting joy because of later results then the fans will stop caring. Even when we were bad recently there was always that hope, hope we would catch X and get Europe or build on something and yet here we are. If we finish mid table then fair enough, we are a mid table team. However if we get there simply by going through the motions and not creating anything worthy of excitement then I worry for the future.

Even if we changed manager it wouldnt fix that issue, the fans would still be quick to turn, or to not care. That's when the club is lost, when the fans stop really investing in the games.

Yes so that I do agree that was a tactical flaw for Marco. The flaw is he wanted to allow the players the freedom to do as they please in the attack but they simply aren’t there yet in the decision making process to play games completely free of all direction.

It will happen one day hopefully and it will be a beautiful sight but for right now we could use a little structure to get us on our feet again

We may have been unlucky against Brighton but today we were second best.
Very telling interview with Souness on sky just now. He’s hit the nail on the head....not enough in the final third. We can have all the possession but if we can’t create clear cut chances and get shots on target we will lose or draw every time.
Opposition are increasingly happy to let us have the ball as we huff and puff, but ultimately we do nothing with it. As Leicester showed, and Brighton, they may only need one chance against us and if they score then it may be enough for all three points.
We kidded ourselves thinking that Spurs was a blip and Burnley was as it should be.
Spurs showed us the true gulf in class, and Burnley had their Christmas dinner too early and didn’t turn up.

I don't think we were. They didn't play well or even better than us. Mistake was the winner today. Think we can all see our problem is the final third and Souness gets paid for pointing out the blatantly obvious. We are huffing and puffing and will continue to huff and puff without a decent striker and a bang out of form Walcott. You also could argue that we didn't turn up against Spurs and we did against Burnley. I thought the tactics of 3 at the back against Burnley was spot on considering how the play. Against Spurs tactics totally wrong with our 2 CB's having no defensive cover and our galavanting full backs space exploited by clever (different class) players. Our attack is now our biggest problem aided with a weak CM and brain farts.

Let's state some facts

DCL isn't good enough to start, sub at best.
Tosun is our best option up front but he isn't anywhere near our level either.
Walcott isn't good enough anymore
We need leadership on the pitch
We need a new rightback
We need a new striker
