Besic looks one hell of a player.

He managed to showcase pretty much all his best attributes in 45 mins of a friendly. Looks even tidier on the ball than I thought he would. I don't envy Martinez' responsibility in deciding who starts in that midfield.

They were just much better prepared for this I think. I really liked Olivier Torres. Ace little player. We should be fine for Leicester though. McGeady had an absolute mare out there. I was rooting for him all game but literally 99% of what he did went to sh**. Better luck next time Geads.

Enjoyed watching the Porto team play good football today. As far as Everton goes I didn't really like seeing the long ball game being employed, what happened to build from the back and play possession based attacking football? It seemed to be long ball, chase it down hoping to catch Porto playing a high line.

Whoa, this thread really jumped up a notch. Not losing any sleep about pre-season performances, myself. More than anything else, pre-season is a chance for the young lads to make a statement that they're ready. Besic made that statement. Stones looked good. Pretty happy with that. More info for Martinez to use in fine tuning the squad. On to the next one.
Just a co-ordinated attack from the usual suspects in a vain attempt to bolster their dwindling ranks. It's the same for every game we fail to win.

You should watch the videos of Besic on YouTube, the whole game ones which I think give the best indication. He really is a class act.

Friendlies mean absolutely nothing results wise based on the comming season, off course a win in a meanless games were we are trying to get players fit would help, but not essential,we could win every friendly to get peoples hopes up, then go and lose our 1st few prem games and vice verse, the less injuries we get going into the start of the season the better is all i am bothered about,we have not exactly played brilliant in the 3 games in pre season, but means nothing at all even more so when so many players are playing that might not even get a look in,in the league etc.

Howard Johnson is right!
