RM saying bainsey can become a phillip lahm haha, yet the way he just let bolasie go past him, neutrals always give bainsey so much credit but dont seem to realise his lack of pace when defending, cannot wait for bryan to come back

How many goals have been scored on us this season after the Everton player closest to the ball slips and falls?

still confused why naismith didn't start, they are sitting right back so that pretty much takes pace out the equation, especially with us having very high possession as i would expect against a park the bus team at home, instead to break these teams down it takes short patient passing around the edge of the box with INTELLIGENT players hence naismith to make runs in the box (like equalizer vs villa at home), not a front 3 full of pace, were 2 of them are new this season (del and mcgeady) so the link up play was obviously not going to be that good so all we could do was cross. these pacey players should have played vs Sunderland away were the other team were going to push up since they needed a win so we would get the space for pacey players to exploit. really dissapointed with these 2 team selections in our last 2 games and it's cost us, of course it could help if lukaku was a bit more willing to try and get on the end of our crosses. That kind of short passing around the edge of the box with runners like naismith going beyond which was required today is obviously going to be tough since it is our first season under this style even passing out the back can be tough never mind tiki taka football but we have done it at times this season so there was no reason to not try it tonight as that was the only way to break them down given their solidity and to improve at it in the long run we have to try and fail but not starting nessi didn't really give us a chance tbh. im just really pissed at the timing: in the rs transition season they have no chance of top 4 and now when their managers philosophy starts coming together they get 2 teams (spuds and utd) playing awful but when we improve at our passing game for next season, utd and spurs will come back, i mean if van gaal goes to utd and shapes them up with the money available, then thats pretty much no chance of top 4 for us
You can say that again.

Seriously I'd love to have the energy for a rant, but I'll swerve it, get a good night's sleep (the crying will help me fall asleep), build up my anger until Sunday and get behind the lads. We can still make it.

so he makes one blatant mistake and all of a sudden you want him out the team?

some people on here need their heads testing, he's been a fantastic player year after year, stop talking nonsense.

Might have been brought up in other threads, but in my opinion tonight's result screams complacency.

I don't think it's the expectancy on the Top 4 Position - more the upcoming Manchester United game. Due to the fact they haven't played during the week, we knew we had to be more fresh.

Now don't get me wrong, Top 4 is important - however every Everton player knows the return of David Moyes is one of the biggest games for our fans during this season.

So judging by our lack of chasing, drive & resting a few players - I think Everton simply thought Palace would be a walk over and was looking far too forward, instead of concentrating on tonight's game.

Does anyone else think this? Or is it simply The Top 4 pressure got too much?

I just think Palace were better than many were willing to give them (and Pulis) credit for. We didn't play well to be sure but Palace had a lot to do with that result. Fair play to them.

Everton deserved a draw in the end. You have to say though that Palace were a revelation - fast and strong. That Bolasie.

Everything Everton did became too rushed and urgent. As a result passes were ill-timed and inaccurate. There is still a quality missing when the chips are down.

I honestly think Everton are better when they are hitting on the break and allowing Lukaku to run at defences. He didn't get that chance tonight.
of course we are gonna be better counter attacking since it gives loads more passing and space to run into, these kinda games like tonight are the next level for us where it takes short quick passing on the edge of the box to break them down, especially when they are on form, defending like animals and defense is their strength

"We wanted to win so much that we stopped being ourselves and that is what we have to learn from. We will try and get as many points as we can, it doesn't change anything. We have had a magnificent season and we have incredible potential in this squad."

The sloppiest period was just after they scored so Martinez is spot on there. There were a lot of balls into nowhere and players panicking on the ball which is not what we have doing at all this season. Even in the poorer performances the passing was crisp and players were still taking responsibility but during that period especially the players rushed passes.
