Might have been brought up in other threads, but in my opinion tonight's result screams complacency.
I don't think it's the expectancy on the Top 4 Position - more the upcoming Manchester United game. Due to the fact they haven't played during the week, we knew we had to be more fresh.
Now don't get me wrong, Top 4 is important - however every Everton player knows the return of David Moyes is one of the biggest games for our fans during this season.
So judging by our lack of chasing, drive & resting a few players - I think Everton simply thought Palace would be a walk over and was looking far too forward, instead of concentrating on tonight's game.
Does anyone else think this? Or is it simply The Top 4 pressure got too much?
I just think Palace were better than many were willing to give them (and Pulis) credit for. We didn't play well to be sure but Palace had a lot to do with that result. Fair play to them.
The sloppiest period was just after they scored so Martinez is spot on there. There were a lot of balls into nowhere and players panicking on the ball which is not what we have doing at all this season. Even in the poorer performances the passing was crisp and players were still taking responsibility but during that period especially the players rushed passes.
not just 1 mistake no, attacking he is brilliant but he just lacks pace and he's a full back and given RM isnt a huge fan of wingers tracking back it puts more pressure on him when defending so he could do with more pace, oviedo is much better defending and will learn the attacking trade under RM, of course probs not become as good offensively as baines but i still prefer oviedo and i've said that all season, not just todayso he makes one blatant mistake and all of a sudden you want him out the team?
some people on here need their heads testing, he's been a fantastic player year after year, stop talking nonsense.
Not to mention it was a jammy own goal that gave us 3 points on saturdayPalace were the better side
Why is that so hard to grasp
When did we turn into one of Europe's greatest teams were its a hudge shock if we get beaten by a team 6 places below us
City drew with the leagues bottom side tonight, It happens

In the first half we had TWO left wingers and a big hole in midfield - so yes the team selection was poor and RM will learn from this! You are both right

You're speaking too much sense there.
I liked it better when you were telling crying 9 month old kids that "If you can't do the time, don't do the crime."
