Crazy how the linesman didn't see Howard handle it outside of the area. He was a good half yard out.

The more and more you think about it, the more of a freak result it becomes. You could wait 100 years or more for a another game to follow the pattern this one did.

The closest I've seen to it at Goodison is the 5-3 v Blackpool and even that was nothing like it.

I don't actually think Martinez is the one to blame for the shoddy defending. It's the players on the pitch stepping off. That's nothing to do with training, for some reason they just keep hesitating/making the wrong decision and it's costing us.

We need to get it sorted in the next 2 games after the break. Come back firing on all cylinders (which is always tough), and get 6 points on the board. I'd have imagined us to be on a lot more than 8 points by the derby like, but i'd snap your hand off for it now.

Mirallas,
Naismith,
McGeady (in flashes)
Eto'o

All fantastic today. Naisy has been top-draw the last few months and Kev really turned it on today. Lukaku is totally unfit and a martinez need sot have him withdrawn from the Belgian squad. Same with Jags and England.

Since we were chasing the game, I think we, in particular the defensive line played high up the pitch which helped us to leak more goals.

no doubt this assertion carries a lot of truth. The defending in the first 3 mins decided the game really.
In our last 8 League games, we have leaked 18 goals!! (and scored 15). The reality is, our defence started looking a little shabby at the end of last season (Crystal Palace and Soton spring to mind). Our haemorrhaging goals needs to cauterized tout de suite

Cheers lads, not what I wanted to hear, but after you concede 6 there's not that many positives you can have from a midfield/defensive standpoint.
