Galloway?...can't, just can't be worse than Jagielka at the present time.
And make Barry captain?. He has some balls about him and gets in the refs face. Jagielka shrinks away from confrontation

Howard - 6 - Couldn't do much about the goals imo
Coleman - 7 - Great in the first half, decent in the second, roasted for one of the goals we conceded, I think
Jagielka - 0 - Pathetic
Distin - 1 - Nearly as pathetic as his clown colleague ainand supposed capt
Baines - 6 - Looked decent, but somehow a little lost without his mate Stevie P
McGeady - 5 - Toothless really, with a few moments of good place
McCarthy - 5 - He's a good player but SEVERELY lacks creativity, do we need two defensive midfielders in front of defence?
Barry - 5 - See McCarthy
Mirallas - 8 - Our best player, great goal, started and finished the move
Naismith - 7 - Took his goal well and looked decent in the air, as usual
Lukaku - 3 - Thought he was rubbish but clearly isn't fit

Eto'o - 7 - Looked up for it and scored a super goal

Been going the game a while now, and it's probably the worst performance from two centre back partners I've ever seen live.

Ranked him slightly higher than you did and get the 'ha ha ha' treatment.

Didn't answer my Barry question, who was shocking throughout.
In the context of rating the whole team he was rated in terms of importance from your first to one of a number as third best performer.

Barry wasn't shocking. How are you figuring that?

Jagielka and Distin today played as bad as Paul McShane did for Sunderland when we tonked them 7-1. I think somebody described him as looking "drunk" in that performance; well the Chuckle Brothers looked absolutely leathered today.

Lost the ball on numerous occasions, and was bullied throughout by Matic and Ramires.

While Jags and to some extent Distin are getting fair criticism, I think Coleman and Baines are getting off lightly from a defensive point of view. The defence were all poor today, as was the midfield cover in front of them.
Agree, the midfield cover was non-existent. Coleman was excellent attacking and you always have to cut him some slack if he's out of position simply because he scores so many goals and is our best full back. Baines had a shocking season last time out and doesn't look like scoring at any time. You have to hope and expect the team to re-shuffle and cover whenever the full backs are attacking, and obviously something is going wrong at the moment. When you have two defensive midfielders and four defenders and still ship six goals you know you have a massive problem somewhere.

No. We need 4.

Howard - not going to cast any real blame his way for the goals
Coleman - Ace
Jagielka - had a shocker
Distin - very average today which wasn't helped by his partner in crime wearing moon boots
Baines - practice how to take corners every day for the rest of your career please lid (other than that did okay)
McGeady - BELIEVE IN YOURSELF AIDEN (average with the odd flash of boss toggernes)
McCarthy - the need to chase the game meant he left Barry exposed to pace but other than that was okay
Barry - missed McCarthy's legs at times but other than that was mostly his usual efficient self
Mirallas - Ace (also, see Baines re corners please lid)
Naismith - Ace (this lad is my favourite player at the moment)
Lukaku - Average with a sprinkling of okay (can't wait until he is fit though)

Eto'o - Ace (dem bootz still gotsit)
Besic - why Mume why!?

If this is one of his average displays, something is amiss.

Best summary I've seen on this today. Can't abide fans that are completely negative about everything. Why be negative after a game when it's over with? Some people don't half love a moan.

Reason we had little midfield cover was that we were chasing a 2 nil deficit in the opening 3 minutes.

People can point to the RS game last season at goodison were we came from 2 goals down but for me the difference was Chelsea are much tougher to break down, alongside in that game we had ross making bursting runs into the oppositions half, Naismiths lack of pace meant Mccarthy and barry seemed to have played a little further up top with the fullbacks constantly going forward.

I think those last manic 10-15 minutes was simply fatigue setting in from running ourselves ragged trying to get back into the game/fitness levels STILL not fully there yet

Let's be honest guys, it could have been MUCH worse. Howard should clearly have been sent off. But I don't blame him for what he did...again, he had Costa bearing down on Everton's goal totally clear behind our shambolic central defence.
I have rewatched the match (masochist that I am!). Trust me, it doesn't look any better second time around.
Jagielka's performance was the worst I have seen since I don't know when.
Is it immature of me to be still pissed off at that performance?...because I am
