Go and change the record yourself mate, if you think this guy is good enough to play for our beloved team then your standards are low. Thank god Kone took the number 9 shirt cos this guy aint fit to wear it.

I hope you are on a wind up!

I bet you were chuffed last year when he was scoring. We are three games in to the new season, give him a chance. I'd be more concerned about the defence at the moment.

I understand the point you're making but we where also far better than them in the 2nd half up to the point they scored. They never went though any gears in that game. They just scored 6 due to clinical finishing and shambolic defending. As a team they where poor.

Everytime they needed to score they did. We give them a real good go but at the end of the day we did our best going forward, our defence was piss poor but I really doubt that many if any will beat them this season.

The thing I will say about Rom is he needs to just calm down a bit and not get so eager on the ball at times. His touch was poor on a couple of occasions today when we were trying to start attacks and a heavy touch actually ended up leading to Ramires's goal.

Generally he's improved with his layoffs and tries to bring players in as much as he can, but he just needs to work a bit harder. He was very unlucky with the header that hit the bar in the first half, he scores that and it's a massive boost for both him and us.

They didn't play that well they didn't need to are defence bent over. Make a tackle up the pitch prevent them breaking or getting nearer, but no we back of and let them in. Every goal
Was avoidable that's what's hurting me most

Attacking we were boss. And that's without Lukaku firing on all cylinders, so I can't wait for what we will have in store during the season! If that shot from mirallas that hit the post made it 4-5 it could've been involved in goal of the season imo.

Besic was introduced too late for me, McCarthy and Barry were knackered... whilst neither Jags or Distin were throwing in any decent challenges in and around the box when we needed to nullify the chelsea attack, and he could've done that for us in the final 20/30 minutes.

Saying that though his back heel was horrendous and he should be ashamed, a truly disappointing way to kill off what was still an exciting game at least. Glad that he did just get on with it after though, he obviously shied (sp?) away a bit after and finished with some decent touches.

Our defence is lacklustre atm. We all know Jags and Distin are class, prone to their errors, but on their day they are brick walls... it's just a shame the number of 'days' they have is slowing down (or seems to be). I'll be happy to see Stones introduced again and hopefully inject that much needed tackle and energy, and not to mention some actual football and decent passing from our centre backs. We could probably do with a loanee though, it would have to be the perfect find mind.

We're going to do well this season based on our confidence and performance for say 70-80 minutes in each of our first 3 games, we have shown we can go toe-to-toe with the top 4 with this squad but our problem is becoming an arrogant enough unit to see out games and stay calm under the pressure which they will show us at some point. If we can instil a strong winning & confident mentality into this squad throughout the season we will achieve something special.

We let Shane Duffy go for 1.5M.

FFS

My German Shepherds would have defended better today.

Roberto, this is a serious speed bump you have hit....still love you to bits but get it right quickly!!

you would have picked duffy for this game? hindsight's a wonderful thing

[QUOTE="slimspek, post: 2977879,

Easy saying it mate but we don't have the player with the eye to pick him out. Only one who comes close is Ross and he's out for a minimum 6 weeks and still failed to get an assist last season.

It's why I've banged on about Ben arfa all summer, available on the cheap, can play behind the forward/on the wings and on his day is top quality, ripped a few teams open down the years

You say you want assists and then mention one of greediest player in the prem in the same sentence?

On the two teams performance today Chelsea were never three goals better than Everton.

At the end of the game Everton were applauded off the pitch by fans who appreciated the teams efforts.

Plenty to be happy about, and yes two or three very poor performances but Martinez should be able to pinpoint these
and act accordingly.
