As long as we put in a good performance that suggests we've learnt some of last season's lessons and all of them put in a proper shift out there, I'll be happy whatever the outcome.

Just volley them everywhere, chase them all over the park and give them their toughest game of the year. We're well capable and shouldn't need any more motivation.

Mirallas and Lennon on the wings for me. Those lads know a thing or two about big games and getting stuck in. Leave Deulofeu on the bench until they're tired, bruised and bloodied and then let him loose late on if necessary.

The last time I bet on Everton was at the start of the 1983-84 season. A rs supporting mate said we wouldn't get within 20 points of them. Another blue mate and I both bet him 20 quid that we would. We finished 18 points behind the rs.

Needless to say he didn't pay up.
