What if winning isn't good for the club

You can't always think short term

I will always take a win. I also think the manager needs to go asap.
So even if defeat means apathy, winning will always still make me smile inwardly.
I respect your opinions though, and those of everybody else mate ;)

In your opinion!

I could see the agitators kicking off demanding the manager sacked at the drop of the hat using your argumentation.

I think you looking back stating you wanted Everton beaten will be highly embarrassing for you in due course.

I urge you to reconsider.

Yes a straw man argument. Taking something to the extreme to attempt to win an argument

I will never be embarrassed by putting the future of Everton above the short lived happiness achieved by beating Bournemouth

What part of it would be embarrassing?

I think you've already taken it to the extreme saying you want Everton to LOSE.

Then saying things like 'short term sacrifices'

I think that is utterly repugnant. Disloyal - to Everton.

Everton losing should never be on the agenda.

The good of the club should come first. That is never served by losing!

The club motto is 'Nothing but the best is good enough'

Not: "lets go out and lose - for long term gain"

Just something else for us all to consider.
With an effective board making correct and effective decisions, much of this mornings polarisation would be avoided.
We are ALL Everton lads. Many of us feeling kicked in the head by the last 2 years.

Haha. It's a dead rubber mate

Stop looking for the moral high ground

I said I want Everton to lose if a win means Martinez stays

There's a subtle difference that eludes your understanding but I stand by it all the same

So you wouldn't swap 1 Everton loss in a meaningless game for the losses that would inevitably come as a result of an extended tenure for Martinez

Fair enough. Some people have bigger ambitions for this club than having 6 pointers with Bournemouth for the bragging rights of 11th place

Mr Moshiri will act in due course either way.

I'm confident he will do so in a manner that is needed.

I think people who claim to see the long term. In reality are not.

Had the man at the top Moshiri been bringing the club into disrepute that is a wholly different manner. However, the man is just keeping his powder dry.

The real action will begin in the summer at end of May. In short order.

I don't play shallow games of swapping loses for wins.

I just want Everton to win. Every single game.

So Martinez clearly doesn't give a toss about the last 2 home games then. Why, play your best team when you can turn it into a celebration for a player who should have left last year?? He's determined that his worst ever home record won't ever be beaten

Hope so. We are long overdue the club turning from nearly men into something better again.

It's blatantly obvious no one is going anywhere until the summer at least - so why not just get behind the team until then? Ignore the manager. If results come great, if not then he won't last too long.

I predict a miserable vomit inducing 70 mins, with the team only deciding to show up for the last 20 when we actually bring on 2 wingers. But of course by this time we're 3-0 down and its all pointless.

Sometimes being an Evertonian requires you to dig in and show some grit.

That doesn't mean to turn into a yellow belly and start losing games on an agenda.

You win as many games as you can and let the EFC board - with fan input - then make the decisions. In the summer probably.

If I see any gutless EFC performance today I will be absolutely LIVID !!!!

Even if the game appears meaningless.

Also if people want us to lose!!!
