I think he messed up playing JJK and Townsend. As awful as Keane is still better than Hiolgate too. We still lack balance and no left foot on the left side was telling.

Nothing wrong with our defence apart from falling asleep on one set piece again....we can't score we had more than enough chances in the 2nd half - for all the doom mongers that was a far better performance from us -

Good to see the effort but you'll never win much football games playing foot volleyball.

The quality on the ball is just not there in this squad. No runs, no movement off the ball, no cleverness about the play.

I went for Anthony Gordon as MoM, a pity he wasn't on for the full 90 minutes.

Richie gave his usual 100%, Holgate put pinpoint passes from one side of the pitch straight out of play on the other side at least 3 times, Kenny tried some good moves but isn't good enough.

Villa aren't very good, so they matched our mediocrity.

What else did Pawson get for Christmas apart from his yellow card?

I can only think that Dunc didn't fancy Gordon tracking back against Digne because going forward he's miles ahead of Townsend, what we've got in terms of options in midfield and full-back is genuinely relegation material.
