Anyone seen this allan play? Is he someone who sits in front of the back four or is he more of a box to box midfielder? Is he good enough to shell out that sort of cash for a 29 year old

Very much a sit in front of the defence holding midfielder. Passing is superb though. He’d be a hit if he signs for Everton IMO.

Would be nothing like a free tho with the signing on fees / wages that players on 'free transfers' demand.

He's in his 30s too so we'd likely just be left with an old player on massive wages again.

Swerve.

Absolutely. At his peak he was a brilliant player, just feels like Chelsea want to offload some wages and someone will end up years down the line with a mid thirties player on a huge whack

Yeah those players that will play without a salary are particularly hard to come by. He'll have his pick, so I think we would struggle to attract him even with a salary tbh.

He'll probably go to one of those clubs that want to achieve things in the near future.

Allan is exactly the type of player we need, good at everything, a leader and doesn't miss many games. He might be 29 but 2/3 good years out of him is worth the money being banded around IMO. He's 100 percent better than our CM mid options at the moment and plugs a glaringly large and annoying hole in our side.

Doesn't matter if he doesn't miss many games, once everton touches you. The polar opposite to the RS it seems.

Yeah she should be important but if he's going to be a difference maker then do the deal irrespective of him being 29.

Makelele joined Chelsea at 30. Think we can all agree that was a successful signing.

Don't you just hate those clubs who want to achieve things in the near future. Where's the fun in that?

Willian would be a very good signing on a free - he's streets ahead of all of Bernard/Walcott/Iwobi and still has pace.

Give him a 2 year deal which gives us a decent option out wide allowing us to spend elswhere this summer then bring in a more long term option next summer.
