I understand why people want Butland. I get it. Can we stop saying we should go for him tho? He's going to cost a FORTUNE. Half of his fee we could get a boss keeper from out of the country.

We've been linked with him over the last three years mate, people (myself included) will always be hopeful.

He really is going to be brilliant. Think Stones, but a goalkeeper version. Keepers cost less than outfield players so there's always the hope that Martinez wakes up one morning and realises "you know what, if I spend what I've got on a goalkeeper who can actually catch the ball, we're going to be great."

I do see your point though. I don't know about many players overseas myself though and I can't be bothered with the whole Football Manager thing so Butland's the only keeper I know about. We've not had much luck in the foreign keeper department so I don't think they fill people with confidence.

He looks quite good on the counter for a keeper, not a scooby about his actual keeping though.​

The fact he's willing to let Naismith and Mirallas go tells me Martinez has some potential deals in the offing. I do think a gentleman's agreement is in place for Yarmolenko though, think that has been a deal that has continued to be worked on these past months.

Looks like Kev and Naismith off. Pretty big shoes to fill, we'd want to get some quality replacements in.

By the same token, if we can get upgrades on those two, this squad is looking pretty damn handy.

Zat we won't get in two top notch players mate and highly doubt we will ship off 4 players in a January window mate

Finners - think we are more likely to see players leave in Jan than actually arrive, Martinez has used the window in the past to offload players who are pushing to be allowed - both Jelavic and Heitenga for their International chances, so can see some similarities with all 4 of those players - although think some of it is players posturing for more game time and in Gibsons case maybe angling for a new contract

Then again he stopped Distin leaving as he thought we needed him still, so he will regardless of what he says do what is best for Everton over what's best for that player as any good manager should really
