Has a touch of the Peter Schmeichels about him but on that video it looks like quite a few shots parried back into the centre of the box...

He's just a good keeper mate, honestly though never ever seen him outside of the big games so he may just be someone who can raise the game and saves the howlers for when he plays crap teams, as i said for 3-4m it wouldn't be the worst bit of business as he has the potential at 27 to be a very good keeper if he adapts

They could well attract him more thats true, however as i said in the summer with him having less than 12 months left on his contract not one of those myriad of supposed clubs after him actually made any contact besides Dortmund - who the chairman knocked back
I think it just comes down to money at the end of the day, we were willing to negotiate whereas dortmud as you say, wouldn't. Personally i think this a good sign that the club is going to invest in targets rather than have repeats of owen/shearer/mouthino etc

Think it was exactly the same with Lukaku, there was different clubs in for him, we were willing to pay more than the rest, therefore we signed him. I would imagine the same would happen again for rom though, more than one club and the highest bidder gets him.

How is Naismith a like for like replacement for Deulofeu exactly mate?

Obviously we would weaken ourselves if we let two players go without any replacement being brought in, but you could say that about letting any player ever leave a team without replacing them
He never said Naismith was like for like for del. He was talking about Mirallas,"if we got rid of Mirallas then Lennon would be the only attempt at a like for like replacement for del"

I read the other posts as saying those two (at least) out and another winger and a forward in....so then neither kone or cleverley would be on the left and we'd be covered.

Either Kone or Cleverley would have to be starting on the left. If we got rid of Mirallas then Lennon would be the only attempt at a like-for-like replacement if Deulofeu got injured. I think we'd be weakening ourselves if we sold Mirallas and Naismith without bringing in another forward.

For a team with top 4 hopes, Osman and Dowell for the wings is an absolute terrible idea.

What if Gerry and Lukaku get Injured or suspended at the same time ?? Kone as striker with Osman & Lennon on the wings ???!!! WOW!

If you carry on reading i have said a backup striker & a winger at most if we got rid of 4

Think part of Dortmund getting knocked back was that it wasn't Dortmund who weren't willing to negotiate but Surkis the Kiev owner who just flat knocked them back and then basically said the Bundesliga isn't high enough profile, the blokes seriously a nut job.

Said before now a few times that Martinez does seem to think long term about many things - from building the team to future goals etc, and same applies to his transfer targets, he doesn't seem to bid then move on straight away but always keeps a player he wants in mind for the future as well, and more often than not seems to eventually get them in

Fair enough then mate, either way can't see too many outgoings without a few coming in anyway

Yeah I personally can't see any major business happening either. Maybe Naismith and McGeady out and replacements for them in. Martinez has said (and shown by his record) he doesn't do big money business mid season and values continuity. I think we'll look for a keeper in the summer

I meant Mirallas is like for like, not Naismith. And by that I mean they're both good wingers that can play on the right.

What if Bobby sat down with rom, stones, del and barkley and said.. "Stay with us we're going places and to prove it I'll sign yarmolenko, if I don't get him you can all leave on a free"

Or we can continue the way we are and one by one they will all get sold anyway and we can reminisce about our great young talent whilst we watch them all win stuff playing for other teams mate, but silver lining we will still all post sarcastic comments on the internet forums so alls good eh :)

Surely the risk is worth it to sign the Ukrainian final piece of the puzzle? Maybe we could get Riquelme on the coaching staff while we're at it.
