I think its a good idea for Martinez to mention his players that aren't getting game time!

We havent sold anyone of any note for almost 18 months now, so my guess is he may want to refresh the squad a little but needs to drop in numbers before he can.

It happens with most teams "squad" players have a shelf life of 2-3 seasons at a club then move on for someone else to come in, be a squad player, then leave for first team football.

I'd uite like to see both Mirallas & Naismith go to bring some money in, (we could get around 15-20 mil for both based on Norwich's 8 million bid)
Even if we dont get anyone else in it could prove a way into the first team squad for Dowell

That happens, same people wanting this will be moaning about squad depth, deep in april.

I think our squad is pretty bulky as it is!

We have Barkley, Osman, Cleverley, Barry, Besic even Ledson who can all play Gibson's position

We have Deulofeou, Osman, Lennon, Kone even Dowell who can all play Mirallas & McGeadys position

And Naismith just plays wereever he is put so we have Lukaku, Kone, Barkley, Osman, Deulofeu who can all play his position

if we were to get rid of all four id only want 1 maybe 2 in!
A left midfielder and a back up centre forward

For a team with top 4 hopes, Osman and Dowell for the wings is an absolute terrible idea.

What if Gerry and Lukaku get Injured or suspended at the same time ?? Kone as striker with Osman & Lennon on the wings ???!!! WOW!

for that fee he is well wort it mate, as i said the vtimes i have seen him hes looked a very good keeper, if he could take that form to us though is a big IF

reason he doesn't start for the Ukraine though is rubbish, Pyatov plays for Shaktar and is miles inferior, but ashe plays for a favoured/bigger club he gets selected ahead of him

it is a bit made that if both players were sold next month that is roughly 18-20 million pounds worth of transfer fees at minimum to come in.

Surely, Surely! that would lead to a decent player replacing them? Roberto can't be that against the window not to sign someone in those circumstances?

I know we aren't signing yarmalenko and he wouldn't want to sign anyway but if anything, our young attacking team should turn a couple of players heads if we approached them?

for a team with top 4 hopes mate, Naismith on the wings or up front is a terrible idea as well though as is playing McGeady anywhere

Well yeah but we need our 3rd choice players if the important ones get injured. If Deulofeu gets injured and we've sold Mirallas and Naismith without replacing them we'd have no one to play out on the right.

but another club who can offer him more money, warmer climate, champions league football etc many thing, could attract him more.

In the playing sense i think he would love it here, but sadly that isn't enough these days.

They did us over twice as we paid more to get Pienaar back than we received. Lennon signing was daft really with so many wingers on the books already then we sign a "defensive" winger...off the back of a few good games at first which tailed off by season end.

I think if Martinez knew how good Geri was going to be on his return, I think Lennon would still be training with the kids at Spurs. Wasn't sure about the signing at the time less sure about it now. Seems like Bobby panicked towards the end and Levy got what he always wanted, someone to pay £4.5m and if memory serves me right his contract was up this summer.
Looks like they got us back for Piennaar

Either Kone or Cleverley would have to be starting on the left. If we got rid of Mirallas then Lennon would be the only attempt at a like-for-like replacement if Deulofeu got injured. I think we'd be weakening ourselves if we sold Mirallas and Naismith without bringing in another forward.

They could well attract him more thats true, however as i said in the summer with him having less than 12 months left on his contract not one of those myriad of supposed clubs after him actually made any contact besides Dortmund - who the chairman knocked back

How is Naismith a like for like replacement for Deulofeu exactly mate?

Obviously we would weaken ourselves if we let two players go without any replacement being brought in, but you could say that about letting any player ever leave a team without replacing them

Keep mirallas. Buy Inaki williams. Sell mcgeady, Naismith and pienaar. Worry about a keeper in the summer.
