I'm not having that on two counts:
i) Arteta and Cahill were far more valuable too us, far better players, and went through far greater periods of form and speculation and never once angled for a move away. Arteta left after giving us the best years of his career playing alongside some real ****e and never once said a thing. So firstly, I don't accept he had to open his mouth.

ii) Secondly, I could perhaps forgive a genuinely great player the odd choice quotes. I really could make an effort; but Fellaini? The baseline of my whole viewpoint is that he isn't even that good, why the hell he thinks he will light up the Champions League I don't know, because he won't. So I imagine it really comes down to more money - when doesn't it? - again, what does he feel he has to justify someone splashing £25 million and £100k a week on him? Can't imagine any club would be stupid enough, if they are then good luck to them. I don't think he's even good enough for us!

he has ambition mate, surely you understand that. He wants to play at the highest level, playing against the best players in the world. He's a belgian who doesn't support us, but is willing to get to the champions league with us. Rooney was born an evertonian but wasn't prepared to play for the club he loved - that case is a lot worse imo. I'm over it now, but if i was given the chance to play for everton - as well as having the ability to be one of their best ever players - i would never have turned down that opportunity if i were given it, and i believe most on here would think the same.

Felli wasn't born an evertonian, we are just his employer and he has ambitions to work for a bigger employer in a more successful job. At least the guy is willing to give it a try to see if he can get to dreamland with us

Those saying "why are we trying to loan him" etc... Let's think about it logically; you'd have to pretty stupid or outright desperate to spend actual cash for him without looking at him first.

The perfect point of comparison is Drenthe and Van Der Meyde. The last thing we need is a complete loon tied down to a four year contract.

QPR are prepared to take the risk; we're in a position where we don't have to.

If the lad is serious about his career and we're in for him, he'll join us. If he's a tool and following the quick buck, he'll choose QPR.

Either way, I'll either be happy to have him here or delighted we missed out on him, depending on his choice. For that reason, I'm not fussed whether this is true or not. If it is great, if it isn't, great.

I imagine that any deal with QPR will hardly be straightforward either.QPR are in a relegation dogfight and their safety is by no means assured. They already have a squad of expensive players that are obviously not what Harry Redknapp wants. They are going to have to pay huge money to entice players into a club facing relegation and these players will have release clauses if indeed they are relegated. Can QPR afford to pay huge fees to clubs on top of what was paid last summer and potentially see many of the better players leave in the summer, with the remainder sitting on fat contracts given to them be Mark Hughes.

That is not to say that Everton will buy anybody or can afford to buy anybody, just to highlight the point that if a player is given the option of joining a club fighting relegation or fighting for a spot in the CL the choice from a football point of view is obvious.

If Fellaini decides to leave, now or in the summer then Everton would be able to sign M'Villa. I think that if Chelsea are going to meet the buy out asking price then it is likely that they are already in talks with Everton and Fellaini.

Quality player. But hes a sitter. So what does that mean for a midfield partnership?

Great passing range, think about the amount of time the ball breaks to Neville in our half and his passing is either sideways or very laboured.

Neville slows down our play especially when we have the chance of breaking.

With regards to this, I believe that the buy-out clause can only be triggered by clubs currently in the Champions Laegue, of which Chelsea are not one. Also, I have heard that the buy-out clause is void for any period of time when Everton are in the Chamions League. i dont know if this would include qualifiers? If not, it may only effect next January if we were to qualify for the knock-out stages, in which case we would be getting money in on top of anything else anyway.

The buy out clause is simple. Anyone who bids over £25m will sign him. If he wants to go there. The bid will be accepted. Simple as that.

Gibson and M'Vila sat behind Fellaini sounds boss to me, like. We'd still have super Leon Osman GoKarting all over the shop if we wanted to mix it up an' all, while Ross Barkley's knees reduce long-time-Everton-bogey-ground Elland Road to rubble in one fell swoop, thereby fulfilling the prophecy and bringing balance to the force.
