'kin hell - didnt realise we got him over Real and Barca. Nice one Bill.
Certainly mate. Fellaini is a world class all-round, box-to-box, tough tackling creative goalscoring midfielder. He was destined for great things but unfortunately allowed his career to stall by joining small club Everton in 2008, when he really should have been patient as Real Madrid and Barcelona were lining up their bids, incredibly we stole a march on El Clasico's and, thanks to some incredible wheeling and dealing, for the cut price fee of £15 million. As you well know he is worth closer to £50 million now, and Barca had to settle for Xavi and Iniesta. Fellaini completed a stellar first season with the blues by notching up more bookings than goals, tackles or accurate passes but the demanding fanbase were appeased by his loveably naff haircut - the Gwladys Street imitation wig market did a roaring trad - and his insightful interviews, where he talked of Everton being a stepping stone to better things. Of course we didn't blame Marouane, how could we? His incredible touch, vision, control, creativity and class meant we all knew he was right. It was only a matter of time before Barca, Real and the rest returned with massive bids for our rising star. The next season was memorable for Fellaini's 'maradona turn' on Bellamy; that breathtaking display of flair and trickery made the other 37+ games a blur. On that evidence we now knew a star was born, and the trouble would be keeping onto our talismanic hero. Again, little Everton pulled off a miracle in convincing him to sign a five year deal. According to reliable sources on this very forum, Fellaini was the subject of massive bids from Chelsea, Man City and other bigger clubs that would be much more suited to his natural abilities but loyalty convinced Fellaini that a £75k a week package was not as insulting as he first thought. From there on in he has gone from strength to strength. I am glad that he has said he plans to move to a Champions League club at the end of the season, and doubly glad that he forced us to insert a buyout clause, because he really deserves to be playing for a top club. I think he will go down as the greatest midfielder of a generation - Alan Ball wouldn't have been fit to lace his boots - and all I can say is, I am blessed to have seen him play in royal blue.
I hope that has cleared it up for you mate, cheers.
He doesnt strike me as a Moyes player at all due to the fact that he seems to be a bit of an arse.
vvvvv
Hardly convincing, they were all shipped out.RBJ; your problem isn't as much with Fellaini himself as it is the nature of modern football in general.
Players wanna win things and earn boatloads of cash.
Honestly i don't think they should get away with "yeah, and why shouldn't they wanna win things and earn boatloads of cash?", sure, it's digusting to a certain extent but it's not like a protest rally is gonna end that. Hell, the TV deal money should be enough to hire guatemalan death squads to wipe out every protest rally and to pay off the lawmen to let said squads off scot free.
Also, M'Vila deserves a punt. Moyes knows how to change the attitude of a misfit. Just think of Baxter, VDM, Drenthe, Jo, Beckford...
I'm not having that on two counts:RBJ; your problem isn't as much with Fellaini himself as it is the nature of modern football in general.

I'm not having that on two counts:
i) Arteta and Cahill were far more valuable too us, far better players, and went through far greater periods of form and speculation and never once angled for a move away. Arteta left after giving us the best years of his career playing alongside some real ****e and never once said a thing. So firstly, I don't accept he had to open his mouth.
ii) Secondly, I could perhaps forgive a genuinely great player the odd choice quotes. I really could make an effort; but Fellaini? The baseline of my whole viewpoint is that he isn't even that good, why the hell he thinks he will light up the Champions League I don't know, because he won't. So I imagine it really comes down to more money - when doesn't it? - again, what does he feel he has to justify someone splashing £25 million and £100k a week on him? Can't imagine any club would be stupid enough, if they are then good luck to them. I don't think he's even good enough for us!
Arteta was in Kenwright's office twelve months before he left begging to be allowed to leave. Apparently he was in tears.Arteta left after giving us the best years of his career playing alongside some real ****e and never once said a thing. So firstly, I don't accept he had to open his mouth.
