If Bburn don't lower their asking price, the alternative name being mentioned is Mark Noble

Please dear lord .. NO !

his day in the sun came and went .. I'd rather have Palacious who apparently is on his way out of Stoke .. on reflection ..no to him too. Nevermind it will all be over in less than 12 hours.

Don't let the snides get to you mate. Appreciate any news we can get - and you seem sound! Fourth_Official is a reliable source as well like, and he said that Stoke and everton were interested before the stories of N'zONZI'S AGENT being at stoke. I'm a bit meh about this signing, he'd be good backup, but I don't rate him that much. However, in Moyes we trust and all that

I think he was joking to be fair mate but either way he was polite

Fourth official posts a lot so has to keep posting when it's not always '100%' , it's not done and I suspect there are still like I say a few things to iron out but I'm 'told' stoke haven't made a bid and I'm pretty confident on that to be honest,

Nice one Sheeds. Let's hope so, I think he'd be a great signing.

Oh yeh I know 'Feedtheyank' was, just some snides have managed to drive several valued members away over the years.

And that's all believable, fourth official kniws his stuff, but I know that you do too - and if your confident of this its good.

However, i wouldnt be gutted if we didnt sign him. Could be a good player, but hes very average imo at the moment. But i was wrong with gibbo so...

Makes sense I suppose. We've tweaked our system since Gibbo has come in and it's worked a charm. We need a backup/replacement for Neville. Admittedly, I don't know much about N'zonzi. Any use?

This is looking more and more likely, it's being repeated everywhere. N'Zonzi is still pretty young and clearly has potential, if Moyes works his magic he could be a decent player in a season or two.

I like the fact that Moyes is going after players we have never really considered and for a sensible fee this season instead of going for one marquee signing. IMO these have always turned out to be his best signings and ones he can make money on if he chooses to move the player on.

Yeah he was.

Interesting article from American website about how nzonzi would be used, if he signed, of course...

Everton have enjoyed a tremendous start to the season, beating Manchester United 1-0 before dispatching Aston Villa 3-1 with some sensational football.

David Moyes appears to be able to rejuvenate the squad further after the sale of Jack Rodwell to Manchester City brought in £12 million.

Kevin Mirallas was snapped up from Olympiakos for £7.65 million, Steven Pienaar completed a permanent return to the Toffees from Spurs for £5.75 million and Steven Naismith arrived on a free transfer from Rangers in what has been a productive summer for Everton.

Blackburn's Steven N'Zonzi could be another arrival, according to the Liverpool Daily Post (LDP), with the 23-year-old appearing to be available after Rovers manager Steve Kean made the former France under-21 international dispensable.

It would be a terrific signing for the Toffees, as it would allow Marouane Fellaini to continue to dominate in a more advanced role, where the Belgium international has been particularly effective so far.

The 24-year-old has relished the freedom to burst forward and link up with Nikica Jelavic, another strong, powerful player who is technically adept.

Without the ball, Moyes might insist on Fellaini dropping deeper to form a trio of central midfielders, alongside two of Darron Gibson, Phil Neville and Leon Osman. This tactic could be especially effective in frustrating the higher calibre of opposition in away matches.

Outside of Jelavic, though, it appears Fellaini will be the second source of goals for Everton, so the signing of N'Zonzi would give more options in centre midfield without compromising the Belgium's new advanced role.

The LDP also report that Everton will complete the signing of Bryan Oviedo from FC Copenhagen.

The Costa Rica international will provide decent cover for Leighton Baines, as well as offer Moyes an alternative in a more advanced role on the left side.

With Everton notorious for starting the season terribly, such a promising start has built excitement around the club with ambitions of a European place now on the agenda.

The signings of Oviedo and N'Zonzi would further bolster the squad to give Everton a boost in order to maintain their bright start.

If we're 1-0 up to a team like Chelsea with 10 mins to go, Nzonzi is the type of player we can bring from the bench to close the game out. Think John Obi Mikel's role at Chelsea. We've got marquee players in Baines, Jagielka, Fellaini, Jelavic and Mirallas. He's strong as an ox and good back up for Gibson or Fellaini.
