I mean, for me, you have to set loftier expectations.

If you can get a striker who can not only compete but potentially better DCL, you just give yourself a good problem.

Maybe we’re still struggling with finances but Adams just doesn’t fill me with the confidence.

Adams would be fine of course Broja would be better but Adams is a solid player. Seems we still have our hands a bit tied financially we may be waiting to see what happens with Gordon now. We need two forwards.

Think it’s more a case of journos seeing that we’ll probably be selling Gordon so will want to spend that money straight away. Easy to link us with less than 2 weeks in the window because realistically there’ll be hard work in getting a lot of deals done, the players they link just might “fall through” or “not have enough time to compete it” all that kind of nonsense.

For example this lad from Napoli is never happening, cost them nearly €20m only a few years ago, still young and plays for them. Not to mention Napoli are famously difficult to buy from.

If DCL suffers a setback, I just worry about our attacking forces Rondon + Broja/Adams just concerns me a little.

There'll be a massive negative net spend here this summer. The cash off Richarlison + Gordon is likely to be well over £100M (maybe a fee for others too like Begovic) and I cant see Everton spending £60M of it.

We have already spent well in excess of the 60million we got for Richarlison, if Gordon goes, we would easily breach the 100m barrier.

I ignore ,osteources thst aren’t really relieable mate, the Januzaj one has just thrown me, as the source is reliable, I liked him as a kid, but that seems to be his feeling and never kicked on. Seems a bit moving deck chairs in the titanic going from Dele to him.

We might not sign him, but gives a sense of the market we are in, 1 free, 2 loans, 30 mill signing and a McNeill.
