The valuations for both DCL and the lad at Newcastle seem fanciful. 30 million for an injury prone, hardly prolific striker in the last year of his contract and 40 million for a 19 year old who has never kicked a ball in the prem.

£40m for Dom is a lot tbf, given his injury record.

If we are holding out for a decent fee, it means we are not under pressure to sell due to PSR

Maybe the Dobbin deal has pushed the figure up

Agree with this.

I’d say both players valued at 20 million each would have been more realistic.

It is but at the same point glad the club is not just paying high to bring players in is what got us in this mess over spending. Is on the flub to have similar players to minteh lined up and ready to bid tor

Can only imagine how upset Man United fans are going to be with Newcastle demanding 40m for Minteh.

Anyway, from the sounds of it both us and Newcastle are playing our hand here, betting on the other to cave a bit before the season starts. I think theres a decent chance this gets revisited a bit later.
