I wonder if this is like the Olise situation the other day where Chelsea “pulled out” minutes before it was reported he’d chosen Bayern. Ie a club briefing it was their decision to pull out of a race they’ve lost. Suspect if DCL has options Newcastle wouldn’t top of the list.
