The valuations for both DCL and the lad at Newcastle seem fanciful. 30 million for an injury prone, hardly prolific striker in the last year of his contract and 40 million for a 19 year old who has never kicked a ball in the prem.

But that’s the thing, both fees are silly but I assumed both clubs were aware and that was the plan for PSR. Think there’s probably more to this collapsing than meets the eye.

Another thing though- if a team actually is willing to pay 40m for Minteh it shows you what a joke United’s offer for Branthwaite was. Whatever Minteh’s worth he’s worth easily double.

If we are holding out for a decent fee, it means we are not under pressure to sell due to PSR

Maybe the Dobbin deal has pushed the figure up

You might get a Wolves or West Ham tempted at 35 to 40.

I don't know what the problem is, but its so disappointing some times to be an evertonian, watching these deals fall through.

Agree with this.

I’d say both players valued at 20 million each would have been more realistic.

More about the gap between the prices that the prices themselves. Both selling for 35m has the same effect on cash flow as both for 20m but has significant PSR benefits.

If the teams do not like the gap (neither did) the del cannot go ahead

Don’t need 40m. Only need 8m if on a five year deal
