Was gutted when he left but wasn't arsed afterwards (living halfway around the world you don't feel the fume as much), however our boy returning has me experiencing a slew of emotions and got me all teary-eyed. Welcome home son. Once a blue always a blue.
This'll probably bite me in the arse sometime down the road.

What do people think of him being captain, is that a step to far or what.
Clearly the most decorated and experienced player we now have?

Also what are the thoughts on his position, 9 or 10

At the end of the day we'll all see whether he's the new 'Grandad Niasse' or the return of the Messiah as he'll be playing for us in a month...or are we gonna have this love him/hate him jarg on here till then?

Unlike other Everton players who came back for a second chance, Rooney has a massive point to prove, and surely he knows it. He has unfinished business, and will be under immense pressure to win over the fans he left 13 years ago.
This will, and should be, a challenging ride for him. If he is as blue as he says he is, then let that show with the passion and fight he puts into each and every game . It has been a long time since a player "bled" for our team, (a certain Aussie was one such), we would expect no less from our own home grown prodigy.
He may be older, a little slower and not the boy wonder of 2004, but here is hoping that playing in the blue shirt again will rekindle the fire and passion that has only been weakly smouldering these past couple of years.
Welcome back!
