Gylfi on fearing that Everton might look elsewhere

‘‘It‘s been a long time coming and finally all is sorted. Now I can start to focus on the season ahead.“

‘‘It‘s been strange and I have had to be patient. It‘s strange going to training, knowing that‘s the only thing you‘re going to do and you arent going to play any matches. The length of time it took to get this sorted was the hardest part.“

‘‘Luckily the manager, the owners and the chairman at Everton have been very patient during the process and didn´t back out of the deal.“

‘‘There were many days that I thought something might come up to scupper the deal and Everton would decide to look elsewhere. We all know this process to a very long time, a much longer time than expected.“

Your English is just superb mate. Better than mine.

the whole concept of naming in iceland is so interesting. gylfi's father's name was sigurd, and his son's/daughter's name is gonna be _____ gylfisson or ____________gylfisdottir

Gylfi on playing alongside Rooney:

‘‘Rooney has been a role model for kids in the past 10 – 15 years. He is the England topscorer and is very experienced and he still has the ability to do something special, like he showed last weekend.“

‘‘Hopefully we will click on the pitch. He‘s an exceptional player and I very much look forward to playing alongside him, like every other player in the team."

The headline: Punched by Rooney but now teammates.

Gylfi on Champions League aspirations:

‘‘Of course thats the objective, the dream if you like. The club, the supporters and the players are all looking into that direction. Of course it‘s very difficult to break into the top 4. It‘s every footballers dream to play in the Champions League but it could take couple of years to get there,“ said Gylfi.

‘‘There were some CL clubs interested but I wasnt interested. I dont want to play in the Champions League just for the sake of it, the club has to have merits and compete.“

You do realise this is all like a love letter to us blues ? And could you convince Sigur Ros to perform at Goodison too please? ;)
