Danny Murphy is a little snide with his humourless monotone delivery and self-delusion about his LFC career.

If he wasn't on TV he'd be out mugging old ladies and robbing from charity collection tins. He looks like a weaselly little baghead who should be wearing a grey (soiled) pair of trackie pants and a minty "St Helens" baseball cap, the utter turd.

Off topic I know, so apologies. But just to agree, it really is a great book. Comes across as a good fella too. On topic, the ones I dislike who deserve special mention from a very lengthy list of pundits rather than reporters include, Savage obviously. Agree Garth Crookes is awful and pompous. Souness unpleasant character. Redknapp truly dim. Tyler, just get the feeling he doesnt like us. Surprised Danny Mills hasn't been mentioned. There are plenty more, but deep, deep, down beneath that mass of garbage sits Danny Murphy.

Bottom for me, Chris Sutton mate, the other ones closecare usually rs, he's no connection to them yet swenscto have a real issue with us everytimw he mentions us

You're not keen on him then?

Yea of course, he's down there, forgot all about him. Boring too and really disliked him as a player. Don't get the love in with him. He's gone from being completely anonymous to god like status in about a season. Very long list getting longer. I'l throw in David James and Tony Cascarino while I'm on one.

Danny Mills fits precisely the Sutton mould above. I've no idea why he is where he is, I've literally never heard one intelligent remark from the guy - ever. I've not heard from Cascarino or David James, although the lack of decent goalkeeping punditry is noticeable everywhere.

Swerving a moment from this hate-in of tw&t players turned pundits, has anyone seen these sort of semi-punditry things from uMAXit? They're interesting and the one on Everton vs Southampton 'bigger club' debate is spot on.

Guardian had a piece at start of the season asking journalists/pundits predictions for prem clubs. Only a couple of sentences, but Cascarino on Everton was along the lines of.......finish near the bottom, something not right about the club, wouldn't be surprised if Koeman was gone by Christmas.... I briefly thought wow, that's harsh, wonder if he knows something. Then thought nah why would he, he's just having a go. Wonder if they'll go back to him at the end of the season?

Kilbane is a weekly guest on off the ball a show here is ireland. He is excellent. Great knowledge of football in general. Gives his honest opinion on players and football in general and doesnt hold back if he feels something needs to be said. And wraps it all up by saying "we" when he is talking about everton.

one of my best friends started out with that show. think he still presents from time to time. havent heard it in years though....bad friend me...

was always great.

second the Kilbane shout. Richard Sadliers very good too.

re Punditry, it's actually our own fault we don't have so many ex-players on Sky or where ever. Other clubs realised the value of having themselves represented favourably by ex-players in the late 90s, so - as rumour has it - began specifically targeting players that would have a post-playing career pundit chance.

It makes perfect sense; would such chancers as Jamie 'Fatmouth' Redknapp, Danny Murphy, The Nevilles etc really have had such long careers at clubs in the top 4 if there weren't other plans for them?

It's pretty obvious why they were really there. Danny Murphy has admitted to having media lessons while he was in his mid 20s, which is a strange thing to do while in the middle of your supposed footballing prime.

Still, we managed to bag Peter Beagrie, so that's nice.

Brilliant! Yeah I hope they do - and ask him about his playing credentials for Ireland at the same time.

In a sense, reading this list makes me wonder if fans are part of crap punditry malarky, i.e. if fan's demand - or at least readiness - to watch/listen/read all latest updates creates a void for content, such that ex players (prone to liking duff race horses, gambling, multiple spouses) have opportunities to sound off without having learned their art as such. Also, I love hearing from Ex Evertonians on most topics any time - which makes me guilty of the same.

Perhaps media should put more onus on input the guys in club infrastructure (Ferguson/ Unworths etc). MIgh tbe better informed.
