Same here, I land in Speke on Tuesday night so will just miss it. Visiting news grounds is the highlight of my season.
I remember seeing us play Aberdeen away 9 or 10 years ago, took my youngest son. Tim Cahill had returned with a great sun tan which resulted in the following conversation :
"Dad , why are the Aberdeen fans booing Tim Cahill ?"
"Dunno son, perhaps they think he's Arteta because of the tan, he played for Rangers so they'sd automatically boo someone who looked like him. "
Forward to start of second half when Arteta was brought on and and you could almost see the huge "Thinks bubble" and question mark above the Aberdeen fans when he first got the ball . "Fit ? Whos dat then and who've we been booing ?" " Dunno mate , but looks like Arteta to me , lets start booing him." Thereafter our Tim had a quiet time of it , mind you they'd be equally capable of booing someone with the name "Tim". We should go back to Pittodrie .... and parade Big Dunc around the ground.
