Hearts provided us with a legend in years gone by, didn't they.

….always had a soft spot for them to this day because of it;

What's your opinion on Tariq Lamptey? Dutch media reporting that Ajax are preparing to make him a pre contract offer. Facing competion from Everton and Sporting CP for his signature.
Not sure I see him for us. Small, quick but maybe not much else, useful going forward but less so defensively. Kind of feels like we’d just be signing a second Roman Dixon, rather develop the one we have.

Take you for your word, as I can't say I know much about him, as I don't really follow the PL anymore. Fallen out of love with it over the last few years. Nowadays it's really only the Everton matches.

I expect Delap ending up at City, Chelsea, Arsenal or United so deffo out of our sight.

James McAtee different story, but we have Alcaraz for this position now.

Dont see him thriving there mate, hes already been to those clubs and stuggled to play, his next move needs to be to an established PL where hes the main man.

Stylistically we are a good fit.

Be interesting to see what Beto does from now until the end of the season.

And in a wildly controversial opinion i have my chips on backing Broja staying as well.

Chelsea would like him as he'd more than likely sit in their reserves honestly line every young player they buy from here.

Arsenal will be shipping for a works class proven striker this summer, United can't afford him unless they sell players and City would likely block the move, City may buy him back but it won't be to play for them but just to resell him.

The clubs more likely to be after him and we're he may end up will be Newcastle should Isaak leave, Villa, Forest if they get Europe, West Ham Bournemouth also and us

Don't think someone like McAtee should be off the radar cause of Alcaraz.
Always believe that the ideal way of Everton play should be two box to box mids either side of DM. No. 6 and 2 8/10s.
An inverted triangle doesn't need to be tica taca.
That's at least 5 players needed and from there Moyes has a lot more ways to play the game.

At the moment Garner could play 6 with Tim and Charly the 8s.
But would see Garner as more a backup six and is better running box to box.
Gana could play 6 but really needs a DM alongside him and he is no 8.
A proper 6 or 2 is what's needed. But more competition for the two 8 with the likes of a McAtee would transform the way the team plays.
A couple of quality signings and there'll be potential in the engine room like hasn't been seen for a long time.

Modern game you do genuinely need two starting quality players due each position, or at least a younger player with the potential to replace the starter.

It's why the likes of Alcaraz, McNeil, Mykolenko, Lindstrom, Beto, Gueye should all be here next season regardless of us bringing in upgrades.

Only way I see city taking him back is to sell him on similar to what Barcelona did with us and Deolofeu.

Yeah I totally get that, was wishfully thinking with a strong end to the season, new ambitious ownership and a brand new world class stadium might entice him.

Depends what we're of course willing to spend. If he's a hit with his age he'll have sell on value which I think Thelwell was hinting at looking for.

Let's wait and see.

Yeah or like villa did with prighogene, city have a 20% sell on also, so buying him back would only cost them about 25-26m

Its one of those positions you drop £60 mill on and walk away for 10 years.

Some positions are worth that level of investment, the key is longevity.

Pickford is a case in point.

If City can sign him for £40mil (as buyback is mentioned online) they will have to make some kind of profit on it.

Also assume he will prefer to play a level up from Ipswich but not too high so he is confident of getting games.

Then for Everton, the question is how many goals can he score for us a season?

Next question is whether he gets in the England side (resale value)?

If both seem positive then why wont we try to get him?

always impressed me and can play both sides, will be technically sound as well and good on the ball being at brighton so long

one of, or potentially both him and kyle walker peters on a free would be good business

Cuties buy back is 29.5m, they also have a 20% sell on clause and as they sold him for 15m they'd get 2.5m back, so anything over 27m for city is profit
