We missed out on Mason Melia . There's another one now in the league of Ireland with an awful lot of hype about and just scored for Shamrock Rovers in Europe at 16. Michael Noonan. Hopefully we are monitoring him

It's the fact that's he highly touted for a while now . And the best team in the league are starting him up front at 16.
Scoring on his debut helps.

We needed a striker who stayed fit, could score 10+ goals a season and was availablefor 0 down payment. I have little doubt in my mind beto was one of very few strikers who ticked all these boxes. He's not great but it does not take a decorated title winning manager to see he's more dangerous than dcl these last 2 seasons.

There is something to be said for playing players that want to be here, dcl doesn't so shouldn't play.

Not going to say thirwell is blameless here. But his failure with beto is not selling/moving on dcl as he'll have known internally pretty early on dyche would play him regardless.

….all of this PSR discussion regarding Beto should not disguise the most important fact that we signed yet another dreadful footballer. It’s what matters most.

…..just watching Hearts v Rangers and a magnificent pass by a Hearts player putting the striker clear in on goal, so I looked up the player who made that pass - James Wilson aged 17. Sometimes it only takes one moment, certainly one to watch.

Not likely imo, I would also expect clubs with far more pull than us to be in for him as well.

Yeah I totally get that, was wishfully thinking with a strong end to the season, new ambitious ownership and a brand new world class stadium might entice him.

Depends what we're of course willing to spend. If he's a hit with his age he'll have sell on value which I think Thelwell was hinting at looking for.

Let's wait and see.

Yeah or like villa did with prighogene, city have a 20% sell on also, so buying him back would only cost them about 25-26m

Agreed hes a long way to go.

Even Melia has along way to go and may never make it.

Not sure Spurs is a great move for him.

I remember the same chat around the likes of Tory Parrot.

Its one of those positions you drop £60 mill on and walk away for 10 years.

Some positions are worth that level of investment, the key is longevity.

Pickford is a case in point.
