Im not. 7 goals in over 100 games is a poor return even for a burley player. No goals this season. Doesn’t seem fast and is very one footed. Talk Burnley wanted 40mil, they’ve paid 15 for that French lad and he’s better.

Contract Dave smirking in background with a silver Parker pen at the ready after Farhad personally scouted the lad.

Realistically we'll only see at most 3 in during January, IMO.

For me the priority has shifted to CB. We absolutely have to buy a very good centre back. Right back comes next, and then a forward who can offer us an option to Richarlison and DCL when he's back, as the Rondon gamble just didn't come off.

Right sided attacker: I think Townsend and Gordon can just about offer us something with Iwobi used late off the bench for nuisance value.

CM - Gomes, Allen, Delph and Doucoure will have to suffice, with Davies an option of sorts.

LB - that could be the interesting one heading into January if Digne wont toe the line. We're ok if he does with Godfrey and Delph who can play there.

Benitez must still have good contacts within European football, the signings of Townsend, Gray and Rondon were out of short term necessity with little or no budget. He was obviously told when he took the gig that there were no immediate funds, but come January there will be more some money to spend, otherwise, apart from the antipathy from the fans and the wages from the job (Ok), what was the point?
He must know a RB somewhere in either Spanish or European football that can come in for a few million and slot in and immediately improve on Coleman.
In the same way, he must also know a decent holding midfielder with legs and a solid CB somewhere in Europe that are better than what we have without bankrupting us.
Moshiri and Brands surely must be working with him on targets even now. It can't take that much know how to improve on Holgate, Mina, Davies, Tosun and Gomes surely?
All I want Brands to do is to negotiate the exit of the rubbish, most of which he's signed and leave Benitez with a few bob in January to bring in some players that will instantly improve us.
Between Benitez and Brands I know who I'd rather trust with a small transfer budget to get short or medium term rewards,
While I'm no fan of Benitez, I'm pretty certain he wouldn't have paid 30m for Iwobi or Walcott.
When people look at the last window the only list Townsend, Gray and Rondon. We forget Begovic and Lonergan also signed and taking up 60-90k per week of the wage budget or 3-5m per year...

Yes they are back up and wont play, so why get them at all and waste all that money? and why not promote youth?

Doesnt make sense

Rondon signing is up there with Iwobi....

Tbf he shouldnt. If he was dropped for saying the obvious, then he should hand in a transfer request and leave. He is without a doubt the best LB we have, dropping him shows where the FSWs priorities lie. Not with our club, but his own ego.

I think we need a CB, RB, and a central midfielder. We can need a player in the centre who can get his foot on the ball and drive forward- without Doucoure we haven’t got that energy or drive. I think Gbabin, Delph are off asap and Rafael clearly doesn’t rate or want them.

….on the LB theme, worth noting that Nkounkou almost certainly has no future at Everton if Benitez survives. Nkounkou does his best work in the attacking third, Benitez doesn’t encourage full backs to get forward.

He seems to be a regular for his loan club, but no assists in eleven.

We’ve already seen what happens when Doucoure goes down once this season. I’d like to avoid that next time around. CM is absolutely a must given we really only have 2 consistent options and they can’t be counted on every week.

Ideally, yes. But you can see that the cash will be tight and CM will be dealt with in the summer (hopefully).

For me, regardless of Keane's performance last night, CB is THE issue now.
