No idea whats gone on, but if we are saying a manager cant take a player, who has been complete pony for at least 12 months, out of a matchday squad as a wake up call then there's no point.
We were more than happy to see Pickford dropped at a time and im guessing he took it on the chin.
Lets see if Digne really cares to be here and fights to regain his place, World Cup years a bad one to be sitting on the bench.

I'd rather we keep Digne but gut says that Benitez is going to do a Rodriguez on him - Digne is his current scapegoat.

I don’t think he’s even a scapegoat, he’s a very good attacking full back and a very average defensive full back. Our current manager doesn’t like his full backs pushing on. I think Benitez just sees Digne as a means to raise some transfer funds. One thing is for sure it’s not worth keeping Digne while Benitez is at the wheel.

Shame really, I think he’s a smashing player in a team which gives him license to attack.

Patterson at Rangers: not a defender. We should not return to that. We cant afford to train him up to PL standards in the position we're in.

I’m a big fan of McNeil. If we could offload Iwobi and bring him in, then that’s a great bit if business. However, if Burnley have any ambition of survival this season, they won’t be offloading their best players in January.

Do we have any money to play with? The defence once again needs urgent work. A RB has been needed for years and now its become clear a CB is also much needed. Any money we do have, they should take priority IMO. Anything else you would imagine will depend on shipping other players out (probably even CB considering we have Mina, Keane, Holgate and Godfrey that can all play there. Id imagine someone may have to go). Obviously it would be nice to bring in more quality in midfield and upfront but I would be a lot more content if we were able to have Richarlison, Dom, Gray and Doucoure available every week, once one or two drop out the quality diminishes quick.

Wouldn't be opposed to McNeil but given the fee we would have to pay plus the fact we already have Gray and Richarlison who can play on the left he wouldn't be a priority if we are struggling with money.

Agreed. Right back and center mid take priority if we’ve got any money to spend. Left back now as well apparently.

My personal view is we need to stop signing older players for fees. We should only be spending significant fees on players 26/27 or younger. Yeah if someone exeperienced comes up on loan or free transfer then go for it. But the days of spending 20 or 30m on those sort of players need to be over.

Top players aren't coming here so we need to find and produce our own. Wasting money on old players with no resale value and no long term upside has put us in this hole.

Well Tarkowski wouldn't be fetching that fee with 6 months on his contract to run.

Benitez's reputation suggests that once he's bombed you out you stay bombed though

He bombed Alonso out for the RS to try and sign Barry to build around gerrard
If he'd sold Gerrard and build a midfield around Alonso instead he'd have won the league...

Im not. 7 goals in over 100 games is a poor return even for a burley player. No goals this season. Doesn’t seem fast and is very one footed. Talk Burnley wanted 40mil, they’ve paid 15 for that French lad and he’s better.
