Ahh good. Plenty of Kenwright hate again.

The days of Johnson were horrific. If you weren’t there to endure then don’t mouth off about Kenwright. He’s not perfect but we’d easily be in Bolton or Portsmouth’s position had Johnson stayed on. His choice of a very ill Kendall for a third stint told you all you needed to know about that particular scumbag.

Oh yes I was there with Johnson and John Moores for that matter. Kenwright is worse than Johnson for me. At least we knew what Johnson was a slime ball. Kenwright is 100% phoney. Made a mint out of our club and thinks its all about him. A very ill Kendall was from the Boardroom including Boys Pen.

I think over all the glory years and dire times, Everton was still more or less the same old Everton, that continued until Moyes left. Since then the clubs transfers, managers etc has been managed terrible. But at the time I think Martinez was a good choice as we tried to change the way we play (Moyes style was getting a bit dated) but the appointments after Martinez have been awful and imo Silva is the worst (imo he’s like a poor mans martinez) I don’t include big Sam as he only came in to do a bit of a rescue job and hold the fought for Silva. We were better with less money.

Most will look to Heysel and say that was the defining moment, and they are not really wrong in the sense something very exciting was happening here in the mid 80's.

But that set back in the early years after the ban should of only been temporary.

What really finished us off was Peter Johnson weasling in in those relative ' early ' years following the ban. The 2nd low blow of Peter Johnson being here has set us back decades. How you can go from being Champions of England, a hugely wealthy club, talked about as a european elite team......... to relegation fodder, skint and a laughing stock in the space of 10 years is just cruel.

Peter Johnson years without a doubt for me.

Aston villa 6 - Everton 2 the official watershed moment of the 80's glory years.
This x10 - up until that game I thought with the right couple of signings we’d be up challenging to win the league. At the end it dawned on me that we’d replaced our great players with average to good ones and that it’d be a long way back.
