We even went as far as to emphasise the word 'speculation' in the tread title Groucho.

Thats the thing with offshoring in the Virgin Islands.

Its so secretive and so lacking in transparency until the Panama Papers that is all people could do.
These Virgin Islands......

Anything to do with Branson lol lol lol

Oh dear.

Damo, couple of links for you, https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Luxembourg_Leaks and https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/WikiLeaks. They are pretty useful for sticking into threads irrelevantly as well....

It is relevant given that the previous shareholder was held under BCR a virgin islands entity.

Also loans to club at cost - were made from the virgin islands.

Infact I cannot see how you can think it - isn't relevant!

Oh dear Mikewex.... you're looking a bit ropey this morning mate.

Just to remind you mikewex: who BCR sports were -

As you look like you need a hand this morning.

Gregg gives up stake in Everton

Gregg originally paid £7.2m for his stake in the club
Everton director Paul Gregg has sold his 23% stake in the club to BCR Sports, marking the end of a power struggle with chairman Bill Kenwright.
Gregg and Kenwright formed True Blue Holdings to run the club but fell out in July 2004.
...
Everton have not revealed who is behind BCR Sports, but BBC Sport understands that it is Robert Earl, founder of the Planet Hollywood restaurant chain

What exactly are we trying to prove here though lads?

That Green was going to asset strip Everton?

Is that what happened to the Arteta money?

Just speculating that its coincidental that EFC was sold so quickly.

That yes. Everton may have been paying loans to Virgin Island based companies at above market rate interest. A complete lack of investment into the club's infrastructure in 15 years. That given the secrecy involved and that Philip Green has always been suspected of involvement officially at EFC (see Wyness).

That some (intangible) assets have yes been stripped in the past 15 years pre-Mr Moshiri takeover.

Apparently that disclosures in off shore companies in Panama are causing Earl to sell his shares in Everton in the British Virgin Islands so that the scrutiny of BHS pension scheme in the UK doesn't embarrass Philip Green due his wives holdings of Arcadia in Monaco. Or something.

No we are using the illustration of the Panama Papers to show how companies can be legally set up in the Virgin Islands.

But which have a wall of secrecy that...

then cause people to speculate that people like Green may be behind them given circumstance.

Also Tina Greens holdings are in the Isle of Man I do believe. But keep trying.

The thing that astounds me, is that someone who has been bankrupt was allowed on the board of ANY business. Is that normal?

Once they are discharged, yes. Quite a lot of now successful businessmen have been bankrupt at some stage. Whether there shouldn't be some restrictions on this is another question.

I put forward then, the Kenwright did not wish to see this happen, and sold before any permanent damage was done to Everton.

And that Moshiri popped up at the right time.

I suppose you've got to learn somewhere?

Her holdings in Arcadia were held in a company called Taveta Investments, wholly owned by Taveta Limited both of which were incorporated in Jersey.

Good morning Esk. Thanks for the correction.

Do you not agree with me that its important that we examine every facet of the clubs sale. Not just selectively view it?

I think it important given our long history of ZERO investment into the club.
