Everton Draw SK Brann or Ruzomberok

I started my Euro trip off in Bergen last summer. It did nothing but rain for three days and I got the feeling that was probably the norm.

When the sun did bother to come out it was a pretty special place- didn't even bother to go out for a bevy as I'm not a millionaire.

Memories from last time for doing alcohol etc (not strictly legit)

Bar called the Spesial I think was about £6 a pint.

Do not try to take Lemo etc. Bergen police had sniffer dogs before passport control last time. They warned us before plane landed and they were serious.

Stadium is nowhere near the city. There was a tram though I think. Locals are very friendly. We ended up sharing a taxi between 7 of us. Worked out cheapest and quickest to the ground. The ground is tiny. Think scunthorpe.

We will have a very small ticket allocation. If you can afford it buy the Brann club hospitality. It wasn't expensive versus paying over face value. Food is very average but you get a great view and sat a few rows behind the dugout. We got there very early and even had a walk on the pitch plus a chat w Moyes and some players. Very relaxed.

for those on a serious budget ...

Buy small bottles of water at the airport. Decant a big bottle of vodka into small bottles of water. Have a plazzie bag of whatever your mixer is with you. The local bars started charging £6 a can of coke when they latched on last time.

I think you'll be disappointed if hoping for a German side.

The three German sides who are playing in the Europa are Hertha, Freiburg and FC Koln. Hertha and Koln have alrwady qualified for the group, and Freiburg are Seeded through qualifying. It does get tricky in the next round (should we progress), we could face Rijeka, Hajduk Split,
FC Midtjylland, Rosenborg, Slavia Prague, and possibly Nice.

Let's get past these first, but we shall see!

You figured it all out mate?

I was on the front of the Norwegian newspaper last time we went, some fella stopped me in Oslo Airport & went "This is you."

Mine was a right journey tbh.

was flying Manc>amsterdam>oslo with KLM using airmiles, then to bergen with air norway (?), flight was cancelled from 'dam>bergen so they rerouted me via Paris, I had to change my internal flight which became 'peak time' and on top of the £100 for that leg I had to stump up about another £200. Arrived at about 5pm & only just made it to a bar to meet the local who'd got me a ticket. Kipped in airport then came home via oslo>'dam.
There were a few unofficial trips that cost about the same but with a lot less hassle.

Local who got my ticket was great though, they didnt let me buy an ale as said it was too expensive for me but shoved a load down me.

Good trip tbh & on my return I joined this very forum.

If Brann go through, they are going to be well into their season by the time we play them, so being sharp enough is my only concern. It would be massively Everton for us to fall at the first hurdle but we should be absolutely fine here lads.

What an absolute shed, could easily pick up injuries and the like on a pitch like that. I'll be an honorary Brann fan until we draw them.

well get used to it.. playing in the europe league means playing in these kind of places.

Perhaps it would get moved to the national stadium if they get through to play us

highly unlikely considering the club wants to make revenue as well.
