What an absolute shed, could easily pick up injuries and the like on a pitch like that. I'll be an honorary Brann fan until we draw them.

I was just about to do that. Now I can't be arsed.

One time Everton target and ex-Bolton winger Daniel Braaten plays for SK Brann.

Highly rated at one stage, but he's now 35 and playnig for a team called Brann so there we go.

Whilst Marek Sapara had some success playing for Rosenborg and Trabzonspor between 2006-2013, as well as being the only name I recognise from their squad.

Remember when we tried to buy Tore Andre Flo from Brann, and Peter Johnson pissed himself laughing.

Brann are unbeaten at home, 2nd in league behind Rosenborg and played 20 games in all competitions so are match fit.
MFK Ruzomberok once won the Slovakian title and...err...their ground is tiny...and the Tatras mountains overlook the town...and...well, they are non-entities...finished 3rd last year.
We should be hoping for an upset 1-0 away leg win in Norway and victory on penalties so we can play the Slovaks as they are almost as lacking in match fitness as us (season starts next Sunday) and should be second favourites against our U23s.

While Id prefer not to play the one in midseason form, lets face it, we should be easily beating either team. In this case, because our season hasnt started yet, we can afford to play a full squad against them and I expect we will. Its not a matter of good luck bad luck or good/bad draws, its simply up to whether we play like we should.

Post from TEF which might be helpful for people who make the trip to Brann if we get them.

'I was in Bergen (where Brann play) a few weeks ago. Great place but pricey as hell. £9 a beer, £25 a pizza... they are kind of standard prices everywhere not just tourist spots.

Get a Bergen card and you get cut price entry to attractions etc and also free tram travel... the tram goes direct to the stadium.

Cheapest drinks and food we found were in a bar over near the Uni called Cafe Spesial. About £6 a pint.'
