[Admin: I'm taking this "use this forum for all Everton discussion from 30th January until 1st February 2014" to mean we can retrieve issues already brought up in the now closed EO Forum?]

The Other Operating Costs: someone said earlier they'd gone down by 5M? Looks like lower than a million to me from that accounts link.

I think it's got down a few million from a couple of years back.

All I know is that the excuse of "servicing debt" cannot be used now to explain the complete lack of transfer funds at Everton.

...and it's making an absolute show out of the manager now, as he tells reporters last week he's got money, a week later he's had two first teamers crocked and the answer to their questions about incomings is that he wont be getting any in unless a player relieves the wages situation and leaves!

I feel really sorry for him. He's being pushed forward to take this now at the press conferences when it should be the fat headed chairman making the decisions.

No chance of that like, he's already crawled back under his rock.

• Turnover increased by almost £6m
• Gate receipts increased by £0.7m to £17.5m
• Broadcast revenue increased by £2.9m
Other operating costs reduced by almost £1m and down 8.4% from 2009/10
• Operating profit before player trading of £0.7m versus £6.4m loss in 2011/12
• Net profit swing of £10.7m
• No increase in borrowings
• £10.7m swing in net profit from a £9.1m loss in 2011/12 to a £1.6m profit in 2012/13

To analyse we made 1.6 net profit. add that to the 20+million from player sales and reduce 5million from loans and martinez and we should have around 20 mil for players. Thats ignoring the new tv deals.
Including tv deals we should have 30-35 million to spend imo

So they stole 1m less last year.

clap clap clap

I liked how Kenwright said he'd give him a few quid, and then we promptly had a negative net spend of around £20m in his first window.

Marvellous really.

What signings would you of wanted last summer? I thought we were all happy until we had an injury crisis that not many other clubs would cope with.

Seems to me Martinez is summing up what we need and where and then he'll spend the money in the summer. Let's not forget he's only been in the job for months and inherited a decent squad so it's not beyond the realms he's waiting to see how the squad performs before spending much.

Or maybe we have no money at this moment in time to spend, its been used to pay debt.

You not think that being in with a chance of top 4 now means we should be strengthening to try and ensure we get in?

It won't guarantee it, but surely you have to give yourself the best possible chance.

We have strengthened mate, we got Traore in and then Lukaku goes and gets injured so wouldn't surprise me if he gets another one in tomorrow. How many have Tottenham or the ****e brought in? We're not going to be able to replace quality like Lukaku, Barkley and Delefluf in January.
