I thought he sounded quite sure we would . He said the owners know we need more players. The right players .
He made sure that message came across . He mentioned being short of players a couple of times .
He also said Patterson will play like Maldini for the rest of the season . That was a different press conference though .
Yes, but he was saying that will be solved by returnees from injury and AFCON.

Maybe I didn't pick up on what you did, but he gave the "we're always looking but they have to be the right player" routine.

Unless we shift players like Patterson and McNeill out I doubt we'll see incoming.

It was all hands to the pumps. If you like that sort of stuff it was ok. But they were on their own ground and pretty much surrendered all the attacking play to City. I dont ever want to see Everton play that way at home against any team, no matter who they are.

….yes, I like players to have that attitude but over the 90mins they also carried plenty of threat at the other end. Given the players missing, they’ve clearly done their homework and recruited well.

Fair point about them being at home and also raising their game when the big boys visit (Forest played well against City before we played them) but I enjoyed watching that effort last night.

Well, I was watching it from the point of view of wanting a potential euro place rival beaten, so City's failure to stay composed and slot the winner all night was very frustrating.

Haaland was hopeless and that lad on the right Cherki was too. Foden was anonymous, as was Silva, and Doku was the only one in the front line who did himself justice.

Arsenal will have taken great heart in seeing that.

….me too, I very much wanted City to win for exactly the same reason but it doesn’t stop me being impressed with the team they played.

I does seem that very game is now defining for us. This will be another test of those players who wouldn’t be playing if we didn’t have injuries or players away on international duty. Patterson needs to play well as does McNeill and Barry. We have to be optimistic but not hopeful. Being a Evertonian and being hopeful never ends well.

Got a feeling he will start Keane if fit with JOB at right back. These love a long throw in and I feel moyes will want the extra height in defence
Makes perfect sense if he did. Also means we don’t have to risk Patterson or Rohl at RB. The more interesting choice will be if Grealish is ready to start then does he drop Rohl and play McNeil in the 10
