If that's how you feel, mate, fair enough. Trust me, I hope your right. But I can see them becoming good players, unfortunately.

Appropriate players for a dull and ambitionless style of football. Good luck to them: a thimbleful of talent getting 60/70 grand per week. You cant knock them for pulling that off like.

Apparently left Goodison on crutches and medics fear a broken metatarsal. So the player who inflicted that injury never even got a yellow card for it, brilliant that.

I've never broken a metatarsal but he did continue playing after the racist injured him so I'm hoping it's less serious than that.

There at least we can agree; I've never seen a more defensive style than "tiki taka" in my life. Does my head in when people make out that it's champagne football. There's no risk involved at all! It's playing the percentages.

I disagree. It's important to dictate the narrative of the game for confidence purposes. Rodgers is going on the attack and labeling us an easyish to control long ball team. That's damaging to our identity.

Moyes should have called them an ale house team and demanded an explanation from the officials about Liverpool's strong arm tactics.

But then we'd have zero class and no one would think any better of us anyway. There's a difference to having a few ounces of class about us and being pushovers. Let those gobsh*tes chat all the sh*te they want and watch their "identity" go further dwon the sh*tter than it already is now.

I don't think anyone needed to say they're an alehouse team anyway. Everyone there knew it and it was the over-riding feeling after the game. After all the talk of their slick new passing game, they did what we have a reputation for and shat themselves when we got at them.

Tbh if teams face us expecting the long ball they're going to be unprepared for our style of play.

However, I do agree that Moyes should've mentioned the shocking refereeing performance. WE moan 100 times les than the kopites but have been on the receiving end of far more bad decisions.

I'm already sick of hearing about the Suarez goal. He shouldn't have been on the pitch. Coates fouled Jagielka. And the free kick was dubiously awarded in the first place.

We've played better football than them all season. Everyone has taken notice of our sudden attacking prowess, and it was on display again today; any other season under David Moyes we'd probably have been done for, because the thought of us going out and grabbing two goals from behind would be so foreign to us.

Today, like against Southampton, we believed we could pull it back, and we did. With more incision (ie Mirallas not going off), we could probably have finished them off. But of course he got injured; such is life.

Should it have been a free kick for us anyway with Jagielka being fouled?

Should Suarez have been sent off for kicking out?

Should Sterling have been sent off?

Should Baines of had a clear pen?

It is important though, it's very important. Allow yourself to be portrayed as longball and the drip, drip, drip of that is going to affect how our players view themselves. We worked hard to ditch that image and it was import we did for our own morale and self image. Allowing some egotistical fantasist like Rodgers carte blanche to frame how the two teams shaped up is not right. We needed Moyes to underline our flowing game was affected by dirty tactics.

He actually said the ref had a good game. Incredible.

Should it have been a free kick for us anyway with Jagielka being fouled? No. I thought so at first but it was just a good leap; he only leant on Jags coming down.

Should Suarez have been sent off for kicking out? No, but he should have went for either of the two potential leg breaking stamps he did.

Should Sterling have been sent off? Yes.

Should Baines of had a clear pen? Eh?

.....

We have been playing it a bit too much in the air since Felli went forward, Davek...you can't deny that. There's an obvious reason for it but I think we'd be better playing it to his feet more. I'll let him play with his back to goal all day long up there...just no in the DM spot, like was happening in seasons before. He's one of the best shielders of the ball in the league, I just don't want that happening in our own third.

Rodgers is a complete weapon though, we should pay him zero mind. As long as we play our football like we've been doing mostly this year, people will know we're a quality side. They already do tbf. Sinking to their level and engaging in slanging matches in the press is a mug's game. Leave them to it and keep that talk in the dressing room where it belongs. Moyes will have told the players they're by far the better side and were unlucky. That's all that needs saying.

Only just logged on to see what the general consensus is. I was at the match today, and whilst I know that Suarez was lucky to be 'only' yellow carded for tackle on Distin, why wasn't it a yellow for the tackle on Mirallas. He's deep in their half just outside their box, skips by Suarez ready to put in a cross into the danger area and he gets cynically brought down. Thats a yellow all day! If Mirallas is out for 6 to 8 weeks not only has it impacted on todays game (as we lost momentum in the second half) but also on our campaign over the next two month. Suarez got away with murder today.
