A player in the mould of Wharton is exactly what our midfield is missing, someone with a good range of passing but who also puts himself about a bit. If I was a Palace fan I would be worried about holding on to him.
He's an absolute baller. Very rare for an English midfielder to have his ability to dictate the pace of a game. If I was United I would be all over him.

First half was difficult and we saw how good Palace can be with the ball. Quick and direct. As soon as Alacraz won the ball seconds into the second half, it changed the game. He had some fight in him today and what a performance. Beto had a few moments of getting stuck in too and he put in a better performance than recently
How refreshing it was to have someone like Charly to come of the bench and drag the team back into the game.

It was a great way to win after such a poor start and adds some positivity to the international break.

Every football club has a cadre of fans that thinks the ref of any given game is biased against them. Every single match thread on this forum has multiple posts from multiple posters claiming that we have been hard done by with the decisions of the officials. Win, lose or draw.
I thought the ref was largely kind to us today, or rather not horrific against

Great win with the break coming, hopefully Branthwaite and Rohl back after. Onwards!

This was really important win with Man. City and Spurs looming.

Important to keep the unbeaten run going at BMD as long as possible as that will keep the club comfortably mid table.

I said it a few days ago but mad how much the mental side still plays a part in Football despite all the money thrown at analysis and various data models.

Palace won two cups, been unbeaten for 200 + games winning in europe already....and yet they were as nervous as anything once it got back to 1-1. That is due to how bad their recent record is. You could tell they were thinking to themselves "Everton are going to do us again aren't they?" And so it came to pass.

Probably also helped playing them straight after euro game as they probably wouldn't have taken Mateta off as early as they did with a free week to prepare.

Now all I ask is the club shows the same belief today and generally v Palace when playing Man. United. Fed up of going to Old Trafford every year and giving up when going a goal down early. Also poor losing the 2-0 lead to them at Goodison. They are not a better team currently than Palace so let's see a result like that against them in the near future.

Need consistency from Tim to make this work. Garner is probably the best RB at the club (which is horrendous in and of itself), but what we lose in midfield when he’s not there is very noticeable.

We’re banking on any one of; KDH moving deeper, Rohl staying fit or Tim keeping the level he showed today.

RB in Jan has to be on the cards regardless
Left back too… Myko is nowhere near it.

KDH and Merlin to come into the midfield.

Up top we have problems. I feel for Barry, it’s a tough league and he looks a bit lost. Might need a striker in Jan and loan him out for the rest of the season.

How we recruit needs to improve. Brighton, Bournemouth, Palace and Brentford are unearthing gems - I’d like us to have a little slice of that.

Ref slightly better. Until we went ahead then it was like the agenda was back on. Regardless today was my best experience at the new ground. Everything was boss, tried Sandhills too for 1st time and it was terrible ( queues everywhere would really recommend everyone else just park up amd walk from town) 👀

Wharton is a pain in the *ss which I mean as highest praise.

Man. City will sign him imo. Rodri injured again today and Kovacic hitting 30. Depends how long Pep will stay for but he's ideal type for his style of play if he stays a few more years.

Not a realistic signing for this club at this moment in time.

I do like the look of Jordan James. Already played 20 + times for Wales, had a spell in France and now doing well for Leicester so think he has ability to play in prem although perhaps not on the level of Wharton but you never know.

I spoke to a few palace fans leaving the ground and they said to me they’ve been put back down to earth, I said mate you haven’t your a good side with a good manager you’ve played two games In four days
And if you got the second could have of been different. He said when we scored
He knew we’d turn it around.
I said carry on beating Liverpool
And good luck for the rest of the Season

Very humble fans @Alan Whittle
