Considering how bad we are at home. I just dont know why with it been a new ground, why we just dont act like its an away game. Not forgetting we have been bad at home for years, so not just because its a new ground
We do act like it's an away game: that's the point. We dig in and play safety first, low possession, backs to-the-wall-stuff. Plenty of teams do that in away matches; we also do it at home.

It's not what the home crowd want to see and that transmits onto the pitch. We want to see the team having a go and playing with some verve rather than the Moyes 'mustn't lose and maybe we'll scrape a win with a set piece' mindset.

Long ball punts up to strikers are frustrating for a home crowd, especially when they don't usually come to anything. Little goalmouth action (at the opposition end) understandably frustrates the crowd. That's a good thing when we're away but a bad thing at home.

This is the Moyes paradox: he does well in terms of points, but his mentality is absolutely garbage when it comes to giving the home crowd something to shout and sing about. Won't play youth, especially not flair players; doesn't have a clue what to do with a striker, even a decent one; won't set up to attack even the weakest teams; predictable in every way; would rather stick to his plan than address obvious weaknesses in the team.

His approach is almost designed to frustrate and silence the crowd. In away matches, that's a benefit; at home, it's a hindrance.

Still, 40 points with 10 games to go and sitting in 8th: It's a big improvement in previous seasons. We either take that (and him) for what it is or we roll the dice again, and there isn't an obvious right answer.
