this whole comparin fees with glen johnson makes us look a bit bad, lets just be happy hes boss ey

we got coleman when he was 20 from an irish team, he has only really came on in the past season, i'm not saying it wasnt a good bit of business coz obviously it was, but johnson went for 20mil at 24, any team lookin to get 24 year old coleman now would have to pay a similar fee

Elaborate mate. He's been England right back for the last however many years and is technically far superior. Still better on the ball at this point in time as well. What makes you think Seamus is better?

The fact that Johnson is gash probably. Kyle Walker is probably the best English right back.

This has to stop. Seamus is class and certainly one of the best right backs in the league, but he's not on Johnson's level in terms of going forwards or technical ability. Tracking back maybe, but lets not get ahead of ourselves.

Going forwards? What do you mean?

Coleman played less games than Johnson and put more crosses into the box and got more assists. How does that conclude with him being on a different level?

The only reason headless chicken gets in the England side is because England have only 3 right backs who are all bang average.

You don't command those kind of transfer feesr and hold down a regular England place if you're gash mate. I'd agree that Walker is superior these days, but that doesn't mean Johnson is ****.

Transfer fees mean nothing about the players ability. Carroll 35 million, RVP 22.5 million tell me which is better?

A transfer fee dished out by Liverpool is not necassarily an indication of quality these days.

Why did he have two teams bidding £20 million pounds for him then? Why haven't 3 successive Liverpool managers (not the greatest example here I know) sought to replace him? Let's just have a bit of perspective. If he played for us we would all bum him silly, don't let the fact he plays fot that lot cloud your judgment.

This was pre=Dalglish like. Calling him ****e is wide of the mark. Implying Coleman is 10x the player he is being wider still. I love Seamus, but GJ has been consistently good for the last however many years and still has the better technical ability and awareness on the ball. Seamus came from lower down, so I expect this to improve over time (I love the guy for the record) and I certainly wouldn't swap him for GJ based on age. But I think on current ability GJ is still the better player at this moment in time.
