The fact we played pretty well after the red card shows that we can be so much better at home than we actually are and that the cautious pragmatic safety first approach is holding us back

You cannot have bad full backs and bad strikers and expect to control and win games of football at home. Add a striker and two good full backs rather than the money we wasted last summer and this team would actually be decent.

But we won't get it right. We never do. The only people who think we currently have good full back options seem to work for the club.

We were the better team, had the better chances, their second goal was offside, unbelievably frustrating and that's going to sting for the nearly two weeks until we play again on a sodding Monday night, humph.
Yep...and this is why people on here are so frustrated. Being so close to top 6, yet so far and no games for a long time because we couldn't get a squad together that has enough depth to cope with injuries and afcon, so out of the fa cup. If the players show the same commitment and fight for the rest of the season, then i am happy. I want more like many, but sadly TFG has it seems another plan for us.

Peak Everton that in terms of the frustration levels. I think we all knew that we needed that second goal.

Odd that fans booed at the end as we’d clearly given it a good go - annoying as the end result and some of the decisions were. I swear down in my first twenty years watching us we were booed off about twice. Now we’re booed off every time we lose.
Doesn't help that most of our losses this season came from 10-15 minute collapses in defense. We look solid until we're not.

It’s said by every commentator, when have a corner. “Here come the giants, Tarks, O’Brien and JOB. Everton have a great attacking threat from corners”

Barry is 6ft 13inches and ducks under the ball.. Beto is never mentioned.

Stop playing either of the 2 guys who are way, way beneath Prem league standard.

I think it’s time to forget about Beto and Barry up front. They’ve cost us too many points since they’ve arrived. Tyrique George, ndaye, braiden Graham, Dibling and even Michael Keane would be better up top than either of those two. Whoever recruited them needs sacked asap.
Fully agree with this them two chances barry had tonight especally the second one should have been put away no excuses. I would rather see keane up front

We needed a centre forward, it was so obvious and we did the Everton thing and bought a winger and now we wonder why we can’t beat a team like Bournemouth at home to take us to sixth place. The dream of a European outing next season was lost during the transfer window. We have to resign ourselves to be top of the bottom half, hopefully. That is progress, that is as good as we can expect and probably as good as we deserve.

Yeah but.. everyone's beating each other... January was a chance. We did nothing to give ourselves a better chance.

RB situation is criminal
Exactly this.. January was the time to get in a striker and a RB and really make a push for Europe, instead we did nothing, a bigger mistake than feeding your Mogwai after midnight.
