We won't have a problem getting to 40 points and we will finish 10+ points from 18th. But I agree it'll still be a slog. Lots of dross to come but we'll be practically there with a couple more wins.
Maybe it's the last two games but nearly every season one mid table side at Xmas has a run of bad form that pulls them towards the bottom dogfight, could we be this seasons contender?

I don't necessarily disagree, I certainly don't enjoy it like I used to, but I figure that's an age thing. The reality is that it's never been watched by so many people. Global TV contracts ensure that the EPL is the most popular and watched league on the planet.
That's not true though. It came out that last year was the worst viewing figures for Sky Sports for the footy.

Couldn't even be arsed posting on here last night I was that disinterested but have now just realised it is two seasons on the bounce that we have failed to beat the bottom 3 teams at some point and all six are/were abject. We even lost on aggregate in 3 matches against woeful Wolves this season.
Progress,What progress?

Well they'll likely be relegated and we'll still be in the big house so does it really matter ?

FWIW I think beating Utd at OT with 10 men is progress based on recent history.

Everyone beats United at OT these days. We shouldn't be second best against Wolves in 3 attempts, they have only 1 win since last April.
Brentford are a club who have progressed under a new manager not us.

We beat wolves earlier in the season?

It made me miss Goodison last night. If those decision had gone against us the place would have gone full bear pit ballistic, instead it was almost resignation that we just take it now and move on.
OK, I know I'm an armchair fan now, but how many more times are visiting managers going to say this is a difficult place to come to before they realise that recent results show that it actually isn't?

That said, the game could have been put to bed by half time.

Wolves have improved in recent weeks, a last min OG away from a point at arsenal, point at OT and a win on Sunday, they were limited but not as bad for me as their league position suggests

Not saying we weren't dreadful but the reality is our squad needs more transfer windows, we don't have the strength on depth yet to drop tarky, have a second string midfield etc

We are relying on some raw youngsters in a few positions and it doesn't help when the senior players like McNeil and tarky play so poorly

People need to be realistic, we need more investment and are going to be a number of windows away from being consistent
It also doesn't help when the manager plays square pegs in round holes either and I haven't got a scooby where McNeil was supposed to be playing, number 10, right wing? Who knows. And as I've said before Tarky always looks better when not playing alongside Keane. What on earth that defence was doing for their goal, I don't know unless it was an impersonation of the Red Sea.
