The opposition have been a level above us, It's hard to break teams like these down and that's why they're so good!

I'm quite happy that we've been keeping the ball fairly well and I reckon the attacking will fall into place with a settled first team

You're not wrong. Tbh I think our best player in that role is Fellaini but I'm probably in a minority of one who thinks that on this forum.

He contributed 12 goals from that position last year, I can't really see Barkley/Osman or whoever else plays there replicating that this time round.

I think Barkley will be brilliant there. Problem is he needs a run of 10 games or so building his confidence and learning the role a little more. Last nights game was a tricky one as Valencia are a very good team who press really well. Our forward line has been chopped and changed a lot which won't be helping Barkley at the moment either.

Rooney is the missing piece to our team, whether as the striker or the No.10. Shame there's more chance of pigs flying!

Come on lids! It's pre season, we have played 3 very good teams, beaten one, narrowly beaten by the other 2. Played very well in 2 of the games and utter crap in the last one. We're adapting to a new manager and new tactics thats exactly what pre seasons all about. Give them a chance eh?
