Europe Thread 25/26

I agree we probably shouldn’t be there. But seeing Bournemouth and Brentford be in the running - and considering where we were after Chelsea win…it was there for us.

I get what you mean but we've been inconsistent all season so I didn't expect us to carry on that form after Chelsea. Didn't help we barely kicked a ball a month after that game. Really killed the momentum.

Sadly, with another last second goal this one is over. It was a good run, but dropped way too many points in the past 3 matches(7 by all accounts). The lack of signings in January has now shown, one fullback and we would be in europe for sure.

As it's possible for half the PL teams to reach Europe, and the fact our squad would struggle to play Thurs/Sun, I've not been massively interested in where we finish. However, looking at our remaining 3 games, I reckon we will finish 8th.
I know to the vast majority of you, this doesn't mean anything at all but thought I'd write something as I'm having my morning coffee 😄.

Need to probably get at least 7 points from the last 3 which 6 off (palace on the **** and S'land) are easily achievable.

Think unfortunately we'd need some of those above not to get many more wins this season and can't see that happening

I think it was gone after the loss at West Ham. It could have been back on yesterday but it's definitely gone now after the last kick equaliser. It's fine margins in a lot of games but our composure and game management haven't been good enough.

Next year has to be about getting Europe and / or a deep cup run. I'm fed up hearing about stability and how great it is not to be in relegation trouble. That's not enough. It's never been enough.

Trying to work it out, so if Chelsea continue their downward trajectory we need City to win the FA Cup to guarantee euro qualifying positions goes down to 8th place?

Big point last night, even though we should have took all three.

Sadly, We have to win all our remaining games and hope for favours from elsewhere, which is frustrating as it was firmly in our hands a couple of games ago.

Not sure the manager and players have it in them.
