I've not targeted Orly, Joey. He's come in and started sharing his opinion on my posts, which is his right in a forum that's open.

RE the meeting, it may have gone well, there is a telling quote in there from Manfred Weber.
Thought you had me on ignore too- like I stated this Brexit delay must be for a purpose tactics etc
it is pointless listning to experts todays borrowing figures are down the complete reverse of what experts stated!

Nope mate, I've not got you on ignore.

Borrowing figures today look good, but don't forget, we've not left yet and there was a spike in tax receipts for the first seven months of the year.

These are exploratory talks between two sets of buffoons. Remember, talks cannot begin until article 50 is activated.....

It sounds as if Davis said that free movement was a non negotiable and they retorted with ditto.

I don't see what changes once article 50 is invoked with regards to that stand off.

I've not heard him no, and I don't know if he's a federalist, but calling the people your negotiating with out as Satan is a fairly aggressive way to go about negotiations.

You really should do your homework....

From the BBC.....

Ahead of their talks the two men laughed off an apparent misunderstanding over Mr Davis's comment - "get thee behind me Satan" - in September when answering a Commons committee question about Mr Verhofstadt.
Mr Verhofstadt was referring to that when he said he was looking forward to a "hell of a conversation".
But ahead of the meeting Mr Davis said his Satan reference was to the person trying to tempt him to comment on Mr Verhofstadt, rather than directed at the former Belgian prime minister.

@Joey66 I had to put him on the @hktoffee mailing list Joey, the 'did well in an A level module once' comment triggered me a bit to be honest.
I see you did it in the best possible taste, he has a good way of by passing of an a debate point ;)
I have just had the displeasure of listening to LBC at 10 o'clock as I am not well - Mr james O'Brien PG is missing a programme he would enjoy as I despise his show today comparing Trump as the new Adolf Hitler cutting people off who disagreed with him etc a very leftist Liberal presenter Bruce would like him toolol

Come on mate, nobody including all of the press believes that. I've seen the clip. I doubt that Verhofstadt believes that.

The pro-Brexit lobby purports not to.

The European parliament’s chief negotiator on Brexit, Guy Verhofstadt, said on Tuesday that “if UK wants access to the single market, it must also accept the free movement of citizens”, adding that Brexit should be delivered by 2019.

Asked for his response, Davis replied: “I’ll say a couple of things, other than get thee behind me, Satan. Mr Verhofstadt’s comment is not new. Whilst I won’t get drawn into what our position on it is, you are right in one respect that the language used about the single market, access to the single market and membership of the single market does get very confused. What we want to see is the best trading capacity for British manufacturing and service industry. That could be any of those things.”

And just like it didn't sound like that, it certainly doesn't read like that.

If that stand off is not overcome, then we leave and go to WTO rules and get on with growing our International trade deals.......

If the 'misunderstanding' is accepted by both men, why do you have a problem with it. Did you see what some people called Trump before his election........
