That's exactly what I'm saying. However, you just said you don't want them "anywhere near it."

So which is it?

They're elected to represent our best interests - do you really think they should leave the EU on whatever terms the EU sets just because a non-binary referendum vaguely advised them to?

I've said what they should do. Get a trade deal with the EU or trade without one.

There should be no attempt to stay within the single market. That is why I don't want the MP'S near it because they'll water it down. Effectively keeping us in the EU.

Dont think anyone is disputing the result Joey, just what exactly needs to be done to make the negotiations legal, and to make the result a piece of law/binding.
Not going to pretend I knew that an act of Parliament would be needed after the vote, but I did flag up that it would need some sort of legal status at some point.
If the Supreme Court overturns the high court decision I feel a one line bill will be put through on signing article 50- that's all the government elect needs if this is not passed in either house expect a GE!

And it was the Conservatives who said yes to the European Union in their manifesto.

You can't pick and choose mandates. The Tories were voted in on being pro-EU in their manifesto, so therefore you should respect that mandate and allow them a free vote to be pro-EU in parliament, given the referendum was advisory.
Never said that on the ballot paper it stated in was in and out was out!

You didn't vote on how to leave. You just voted to leave.
That question was not on the ballot paper as the ballot paper was set and voted on by A sovereign parliament in a majority of 6-1 in favour of the referendum question they just never envisaged that OUT would win so whiners would moan on as they don't like the views if 17.5 million voters, I had the common sense to envisage that if OUT was won I trusted the government of the day to negotiate leaving the EU!

Can we just cut out all of the bull. You would like to water down leaving the EU as much as possible because you believe that's the best option.

In other words, you can't find fault with what I've just typed, so have gone off on a rant.

It's no secret I didn't want to leave as I think it's stupid. But now that we are, we should do it in the best possible way.

Again, you have voted to leave; you haven't voted as to how to leave. That's for the politicians to get on with, as we have elected them to do so.

Great, so you acknowledge you haven't voted on how to leave, so how about letting the government/parliament go about doing that without people like you telling them they have to leave regardless of what the terms are.

You're basically all just shouting "LEAVE NOW, LEAVE, HURRY UP FFS" and not actually considering the best way to make it happen - and the best way certainly isn't to believe that referendum means we just leave like idiots no matter what the terms are.

I'm not ranting. We voted to leave the EU and the single market. Any attempt to stay in is a betrayal of the vote.

Simple two questions.

1) Did you vote on how to leave?

2) If not, is it fair for parliament to decide how we leave, to the benefit of the country?

No after article 50 is signed we have TWO years to negotiate do you not know that the EU will not sit down and negotiate untill that's signed you can jump up and down demand all sorts for what them to say NO?
It's a 43 year divorce of EU law that has to be expediated before we are ready no rush at all, it also gives us time to get trade deals in place outside the EU - you need to go in to negotiations in a position of strength not telling the EU what you want in advance you don't tip them off as they have been so belligerent since the OUT vote!
You wants or demands have already started cross Party consensus has been already set up what more do you want?

Again, you aren't reading what I'm saying. I'm not saying have a vote on Article 50. I'm saying have a vote on the terms once they're known after Article 50 has been triggered.

If they aren't acceptable terms, we should be able to reject them, otherwise there is no point negotiating at all.

This really isn't hard.

They can decide the way we leave as long as we leave. Staying within the single market with free movement of people etc. Is not leaving.

Many politicians start their speech with "I respect the vote of the people and we are going to leave..... But we want to stay in the single market of course"

Just like we were told we joined a common market. An attempt to deceive the plebs, the plebs that don't share their visionary globalist ideals.

Well if we can leave the EU, but retain access to the single market, that would be wowzers.
