In all seriousness, this vote has brought out the absolute worst in most people (myself included). Never have I experienced a more hostile and divided Britain than the current climate. Can't wait for it to be over, though unfortunately, regardless of the vote, this topic is going to be far from over for quite some time.
I know what you mean. Annoyed to see Farage and Johnson still alive today.

We were sitting by a group of young students having a nosh out last week and they were chattering away about the referendum. They thought that if we voted leave, it would mean we left Europe as a continent..... "imagine the queues though like, when people have to get visas to go to Ibiza and Spain an tha...". It would seem too many of the combatants have ignored what wont change if we stayed.

Missed the proxy vote deadline by 30 mins FFS. They wouldn't accept it despite being only 30 mins late. Where's teh justice in that.

How is this vote more important to people than voting for the party that actually leads the country? Just makes no sense to me. Especially as this vote doesn't necessarily mean that the outcome will happen!

This is a once in a generation vote that will affect the country for the next 20/30/40/50 years, there's a general election every five years.

The vote today has more power than our first past the post system. That has given us a majority government with a minority vote

Same! Are you having an affair with my Mrs?

You're a lucky man.

Then she would be leaving then?

As a nurse I suspect she would be alright whichever way the dust settled, but the vibe of the last few months has been unsavoury to say the least. I haven't met a single EU national that supports leave, and all that I've spoken to have relayed feeling less welcome than at any time in their lives in Britain.

Seems extreme - and as unlikely as all the bankers leaving if the government actually made them play fairly.

It wasn't said as some kind of threat, merely saying that with an immigrant for a partner and of immigrant stock myself, a country that has put wind in the sails of Farage et al is not one that I want to live in.

Well, there's no guarantee about that. The most extreme situation would see us requiring visas to enter every country if suitable immigration agreements aren't sorted. Doubtful, mind.

Have you seen the queues at the airport for non-eu passports, be arsed with that!

But 5 years is enough time for a party to mess things up pretty badly? I just don't see why suddenly everyone is interested in this. If they are happy to just let whoever lead the country on a day to day basis why do they have such opinions about EU having an involvement?

Like others have said, I think it should be left to the more informed as from those that I have spoken to, no one has a real clue about what is best.

So
*adopts a west country accent*
You're not from around 'ere are yee?

After all this - whatever the result - Farage will fade into the distance as a relic of history.
