You heard it here. Parliament sovereignty can't be easily overridden.High Court has agreed that Parliamentary sovereignty is not overridden.
The government taking it to the high court to appeal - lawyers the only ones making money!
It means that the elected government will have to give the whole house a vote on signing article 50 the very form Corbyn wanted to sign the very next day it means more delays imo!Could someone give the uneducated me a brief idea on what this means please?
Democracy was on june the 21st ESK!Joey this issue is so important, regardless of whether pro or anti Brexit, this is about the sovereignty of parliament - the fact that the removal of citizen's rights (caused by Brexit) can only be brought about by Parliament not the Executive.
A brilliant day for democracy.
So we have a position where the Govt will appeal, even though the majority of MPs are Remainers, in order to enforce the democratic principle of listening to the majority of the electorate, even though I would imagine that the same electorate would now vote Remain themselves if offered the chance at another referendum!
If the very best script-writers couldn't dream up political satire of this quality.
Democracy was on june the 21st ESK!
Unlike you i will accept the decision of the court, and the uncertainty you moan about will now linger on even more!

Or possibly a GE!
Could someone give the uneducated me a brief idea on what this means please?
I think the opposite would happen. The Leave voters were told all sort of horrible things would happen, they didn't, yet still voted leave. Nothing has changed to change their view. The remainers however have also seen that this doom didn't happen and just may be persuaded that life wouldn't be too bad after all.......
