So buying jobs is a good thing?Other businesses will rub their hands knowing the UK goverment will in effect pay for any duty that they will be liable for after the withdrawal from the single market (anyone who thinks we'll stay in with border controls needs to rethink the situation).

Why are you so unhappy about a deal that may or may not have been done ?, apart from the fact that Brexit hasn't caused Nissan to leave......

So surely the problem is with the regulation in London? Over-regulating black cabs and under-regulating Uber?

Surely that is something for the authorities in London to deal with. I'm not sure how Uber, who have freed all of their drivers from a hell of a lot of worry and provided competition for customers, are to blame for the assembly.

The question was why free movement and free trade need be intertwined.

My answer was thus:

"The single market stands on 4 basic 'freedoms' the free movement of goods; workers; right of establishment and freedom to provide services; and finally free movement of capital.

For me, each freedom is an intrinsic part of the single market, none more important than the other. I firmly believe that. I've worked all over the world and outside of Europe had huge issues setting up businesses and determining my right to do business, employ people, create products and services etc etc. Yet in Europe none of those issues exist, and I believe that to be a huge competitive advantage for businesses but also employees as well."

I provided an answer that put into context, answered why and demonstrated why trade and freedom of movement should be entwined not only in Europe but how when there is no freedom of movement or indeed restraints on movement it affects trade by making it more difficult.

You may not agree with freedom of movement, that is your right, but undoubtably trade and therefore people benefit as a result.

I think what you have done is agree that appropriate trade deals should allow for specific and necessary personnel to be allowed to enter and engage with the locality while setting up and running a business. If I buy an American business I can get an extended visa to allow me or others to do what we need, employing local people is not an issue, but what is undoubtable is that it does not require an open border and the unmanaged migration of millions of people in both directions.....just because you may feel that the process in the single Market is easier, that does not mean it is necessary or needed....

I could not find the report where a bogus reporter with bogus documents became signed up as an Uber driver note Belgium an EU country banned them completely!
Their reputation is that bad, and now let's hope the workers for them have rights do you deny those workers that????????????????????...............................................

Their workers earn an average of £16 per hour.

By contrast the average private hire will be on a lot less and will be a lot more stressed. They also have to cover costs when they take time off - that isn't the case with Uber.

They have the same rights as workers for firms like Delta that are far less competitive with driver terms.

I'm sure that it is known that I'm on the left, but Uber is one of the success stories of the free market.

Customers usually get cheaper fares too.

Uber drivers love it, ask them.

If you like to see it that way, but nothing has been said or revealed about incentives. Remember when we had Enterprise Zones, were they not incentives.

AS for the jobs, it means people earning paying tax, ni, VAT on spending saving, what more do you want. Or is it no jobs so the governmant gets no revenue but has to pay benefits to those unemployed.

How about controlled movement? I take it you are talking of a certain group of immigrants and not say those sitting around in Calais or were until moved on.

BTW, you are just fudging the issue, you voted for the status quo no doubt because that protected your earnings etc. Do you not think staying in will expose the UK to more control from Brussels and we will be increasingly subject to that?

Economic crisis Joey, you sell all of your assets.

Greece put themselves in this, the fact they are now selling their own assets to make some money so they have some money to pay the bailouts (without which the country would be in bits) is hardly "the EU forcing them to sell their ports".

Greece are also hugely in debt to Germany for armaments which Germany is unwilling to reduce.

There is talk of Greece seeking another bail out soon.
