Which bit of this did you not understand......

Yeah but Pete, as you've told us many times, both sides told lies. It means as much as the £350m for the NHS ;)

Sounds like the mental gymnastics of someone who wants to change democracy because they didn't like the result

I'm pretty sure elected representatives making decisions is literally the Oxford English definition of democracy.

Imagine if the economy was quite literally going off a cliff and we had no choice but to leave.

As I said it's no coincidence that the MPs gave us this kind of referendum that allowed them wiggle room.

question time last 3 weeks has discussed EXACTLY the same stuff on the EU and some members of audience just keep saying 'we voted leave , lets leave' the panel then trys to explain/discuss what type of brexit and what do want to remain a member/not a member of related organisations to the EU

to which the audience responds 'we want to leave'

people just cannot/refuse to understand the complexities of it

The audience keeps hearing politicians and others saying "you didn't really understand what you were voting for" or "what type of Brexit was voted for"......the audience, not unreasonably do not trust any of them, knowing full well that they just want to reverse the vote. Last nights QT summed it up for me when one chap said that "people did far more research than the politicians think". We are either a democratic country or we are not. The actions of some of our politicians and the likes of the BBC trying to reverse a democratic vote will end in anarchy if they push it too far.........

I'm sure the Leave voters would have been afforded this same sort of flexibility had Britain voted to remain Lol

"Business Insider" quoted the FT on June 14th. which in turn quoted a political blogger pointing out the lack of a legal trigger. I can't find a quote from any figure on either the Remain or Leave sides which mention this. Indeed, the whole tenor of the debate stated the baldness and irrevocability of the vote.

There is a difference between the usual election guff on billboards and the like, and a government funded and delivered election document delivered to every household in the country......

Did you listen to 909 afterwards?

Yer the guy was on again and it turns out he didn't have a clue, it would also be the same guy that claimed a school was influencing his children politically!

You had another woman claiming she'd researched the vote and said the main reason she wanted to leave was Illegal immigrants and to prevent Israeli & Sharia Law being implemented in the U.K.

Then you had the woman in the front row who was surprised that Tony Blair resigned as prime minister after the referendum result.

lollol

People who have "researched" the vote would know that the government can't force MPs to vote a certain way on something.

That would be undemocratic
lol

Yeah but I placed my vote having done all sorts of research, and knew fell well to take what was in the literature with a pinch of salt, as I'm sure all voters did (I'm beginning to see how this is actually quite fun, no wonder you and Joe have kept it up for so long)

absolutely and alot of people did do research

but we cant just ignore the complexities of leaving and the dfferent types of leaving

maybe we need to have a referendum on each bit...

These are the exact same people who get to vote in our Governments, or should they not be allowed because they don't understand the nuclear deterrent, our relationship with Russia, the economic needs of infrastructure projects. I despair at the idiots who have voted for Jeremy Corbyn, but he won...........
