No argument and I know those running the port of dover asked for millions to fund more passport /customs officers on the French side was rejected .

The point , for me is the Brexit debate has reached the stage where those in political power , of both colours , are absolutely terrified to identify the root causes of the problems for fear of being labelled a remainer . What chance do we have of fixing anything if we can’t talk about what causes it , it’s like a doctor trying to treat an obese patient without being able to mention the word diet or someone with lung cancer and the word smoking being banned .

This is the problem.

I also see that those who are in favour of brexit are either those with extreme power (like Murdoch) or the obnoxious bombastic type right wingers that seem to get all the airtime thesedays.

It's going to be difficult for any pro Europe party to get through to people without being shouted down with nonsense and lies.

The only way out of this extreme version of Brexit is Labour getting in with a Norway style relationship with the EU, I just don't see it any time soon. Not for another decade at least.

Yeah it’ll be a long time til any kind of arrangement arrives , unfortunately.

It feels like when everyone knows a secret but everyone pretends they don’t . You know when one of a couple you all know is having an affair but people just keep pretending everything in the garden is rosy until it all becomes unbearable. It’s the total pretence that frustrates me , even down to everyone repeating how great it all is .
